Traditional Karate and Karate Jutsu in Peterborough, Cambridgeshire Specifically we practice traditional Shukokai Karate, freestyle and applied Karate.

ToriKai Martial Arts Association is a series of Martial Arts Classes in and around the Peterborough area. We offer martial arts training for children aged 5 years and older, and adults of all levels of fitness and ability, and offer discounts for multiple practitioners in the same household, and for monthly subscriptions. Class age and experience restrictions may vary.

Tuesday night at Yaxley. We started with some basics. Then onto kata. Then looked at some small details hidden within the kata movements all in order to generate power at normal range and at very close range. We finished with a simple kihon to see if we could use / understand what we had just studied. Lots of fun and good work by everyone.

What an amazing 1st ICO - International Combat Organisation Squad session for our Traditional Karate team of 2026. A huge thank you to our amazing photographer Dojo Cat Photography Lee Burden also our head forms and creative coach for England the amazing Master Emma Elmes and our Head Kata Coach Shihan the brilliant Brian Whatford. I am really proud to be leading the team again in 2026. We are growing stronger and stronger monthly. Great to see a few new faces and many more to come. As a always say lead by example in and out the dojo, next session is March 7th 💯🥋

Our Story

The club has been running for over twenty years and has four main instructors who hold fifteen Dan grades between them in the style of Shukokai Karate. We teach “karate-do” and “karate-jutsu” and offer your first three consecutive lessons for free to see if you like what we are teaching.

We hold two training sessions a week; Monday nights at Market Deeping Leisure Centre and Thursday nights at Werrington Sport Centre. Both lessons are from 7 pm until 8.30 pm, with an additional half an hour of advanced techniques for anyone who wishes to stay on.

We are the only club in the UK with two DSI registered black belt instructors.

All new students are welcome regardless of age or ability.

We charge £6 for adults and £4 for children, can offer family discounts and you can either pay as you train or by montly direct debit.
