On Wednesdays we have started to trial a dance class with Kimberley from JMP Music.

In early years, big movements in dance are all about children using their whole bodies in bold, energetic ways.
Think of actions like stretching up high, jumping, spinning, swaying, marching, or running, big movements use the arms, legs, and body together.

They’re important because they help children:

Develop gross motor skills (balance, coordination, strength)
Build body awareness (understanding how their body moves and where it is in space)
Express emotions and ideas (e.g. moving like a giant, a tree in the wind, or an animal)
Gain confidence through movement and creativity
In practice, this might look like:
Reaching up “as tall as a tree” or Jumping “like a frog” 🐸 🕺

We have a wonderful tuff tray to explore as well as having a look at the book 🐻
