New Reception Intake Event – Great Haddon Primary School

We are delighted to welcome our new Reception children and their families!

Join us on Tuesday 23rd June 2026 from 5–6pm for our New Intake Event. This will take place in The Family Hub at Hampton College Primary Phase. This is a wonderful opportunity to meet our friendly team, explore a Reception classroom and begin your child’s exciting journey at Great Haddon Primary School.

During the session, you’ll also be able to find out important information about starting school including home visits and a stay and play session, try on school uniform and taste some sample school meal food. We hope that this will help you feel fully prepared for September.

We can’t wait to meet you all and welcome you into our school community!

Friday 22nd May marked a significant moment in the history of Hampton College and Hampton Academies Trust, as the first group of students from our first ever Reception cohort (September 2012) left Hampton College Sixth Form after 14 years as part of the Hampton College community.

These nine students began their journey in the Primary Phase when it was first established. Before the Primary Phase building was completed, their Reception class was based at Hampton Hargate Primary School until their new school was ready. Over the years, they have seen many changes as both the Primary and Secondary Phases have developed and grown. Ms Zoe Trigg, now Head of School at Hampton Lakes Primary School, was their Reception teacher, alongside Mr Paul Jones, who was Head of School at the time.

On Friday 22nd May, Dr Helen Price, Ms Zoe Trigg and Mr Paul Jones joined Ms Alex Ford (Head of School, Secondary Phase) for a special celebration to wish the students well and to thank them for their valuable contribution to the Hampton College community.

Thank you to Franek, Jack, Salvatore, Naglis, Yusuf, Imogen, Sophie, Ella and Harriet, and wish them all the very best for the future.

Future GCSE Music students from both Hampton College and Hampton Gardens came together last week for inspiring songwriting workshops, led by an incredible team of musicians.

Drawing on the rich history of Peterborough, students created their own original pieces before taking to the stunning setting of Peterborough Cathedral to perform them.

We are incredibly proud of both the creativity they demonstrated and the outstanding professionalism shown throughout.

A massive congratulations Ms Ford 👏🏽 👇 Hampton College

Ms Ford has proudly accepted the Civic Award for Community Involvement, the evening was hosted by Peterborough City Council at Sand Martin House on Thursday 14th May. Ms Ford was nominated due to the work carried out with various community groups both at her previous school and at Hampton College in order to create an inclusive environment for all students.
