🌍 Real experiences. Real choices. Real futures.
Last week, our students took part in our latest Business Partner Day — but what really mattered wasn’t just who was in the room…

It was what our young people learned about themselves and their future.

From hearing about youth employment and career pathways from Labour Market Information, to understanding the skills employers genuinely value, students had the chance to connect their learning to the real world around them.
💬 They explored:
What jobs exist locally — and ones they hadn’t even considered
The skills and behaviours needed to succeed
How their own strengths match future opportunities

One of the most powerful moments came from our Turing Scheme students, who shared their real experiences from working in Malta — the highs, the challenges and everything in between. It gave others an honest insight into what stepping beyond your comfort zone actually looks like.

And then… three of our Year 10 students stood up in front of nearly 100 people and told their own story.
That takes courage.
That builds confidence.
That changes how young people see themselves.
👏 We are incredibly proud of every student who pushed themselves that little bit further.

Because careers education isn’t just about jobs — it’s about helping young people understand:
✨ what’s out there
✨ where they fit
✨ and what they’re capable of achieving

And that’s something that stays with them for life.

🎤 Motivational Talk at GPUTC 🎤

Last week, our students were inspired by a powerful and engaging talk from motivational speaker Mr Beezy, who joined us at GPUTC to share his experiences and messages around resilience, self‑belief and unlocking personal potential.

Mr Beezy spoke honestly about overcoming challenges, making positive choices and taking responsibility for your own journey — encouraging students to believe in themselves, stay focused on their goals and recognise the impact of mindset on success.

The session sparked thoughtful reflection and meaningful discussion, reminding students that progress often starts with confidence, determination and the courage to keep going.

A huge thank you to Mr Beezy for taking the time to motivate and inspire our learners 👏

🥋 New Jiu Jitsu Classes at GPUTC! 🥋

We’re excited to share that Jiu Jitsu classes have officially started at GPUTC, running on Mondays and proudly headed up by our very own Jiu Jitsu master Esteve from within our staff community 👏

Jiu Jitsu is a martial art focused on self‑defence, discipline and problem‑solving, using technique, balance and control rather than strength. It’s about learning how to stay calm under pressure, think strategically and work respectfully with others.

✨ Why try Jiu Jitsu?
✅ Builds confidence and resilience
✅ Improves fitness, flexibility and coordination
✅ Develops focus, self‑control and mental wellbeing
✅ Encourages teamwork, respect and self‑discipline

The sessions are open to students and staff, whether you’re completely new or curious to try something different in a supportive and welcoming environment.
If you’re looking to challenge yourself, learn a new skill and boost both body and mind, this could be the perfect opportunity.
