The HG Year 7 and 8 rounders teams travelled to Thomas Deacon Academy yesterday for a tournament. While some of the results didn’t quite go our way, both teams demonstrated great determination and resilience throughout. There was clear improvement in performance as each game progressed, with communication and teamwork becoming increasingly strong.
Players supported one another well, showing positive attitudes and a willingness to develop their skills in both batting and fielding. It was encouraging to see confidence grow across both teams as they adapted to the challenges of each match.
A special mention goes to our coaches' players': Michelle (Year 7) and Alice (Year 8), who both stood out for their excellent effort, skill, and contribution to their teams.
Well done to all involved!!

On Tuesday 16 June, Mrs Williams and The Rising Stars travelled to Netherton Football Club to participate in an inclusive football festival. The team joined in in a variety of activities to test their skills. One game required the students to wear blindfolds and listen to the sound of the bell in the ball to successfully dribble/score.
Another game required students to wear noise cancelling headphones and figure out the best way to work as a team without being able to hear. All students had a great time participating in the various activities, they worked well as a team and even made friends with another school.
Teddy was given an award for his phenomenal performance in blind football.
Hayden and Mia were given awards for their beautiful behaviour and attitude - they were great role models for Hampton Gardens.

This week's second Forest School session was full of hands-on learning and new experiences. Students enjoyed making their own bread and cooking Lincolnshire sausages over the open fire, developing both practical skills and confidence.
The warm sunshine made the weather perfect for cooking on the fire, and students took the opportunity to talk about where food comes from and how it is produced.
The portable microscope was a fantastic addition, allowing students to take a closer look at small bugs and tree leaves, discovering details they wouldn’t normally see with the naked eye.
Quail eggs were also on the menu, and even Ms Silva tried one for the very first time — proving that Forest School is a place for everyone to try something new!
To finish the session, marshmallows were a well-earned treat, bringing smiles all around.
