Hampton Gardens is a secondary school which opened in September 2017 and serves the communities of Yaxley, Cambridgeshire and Hampton, Peterborough. The school will eventually accommodate 1200 students in Years 7-11 and 300 Post-16 students, however the school currently has Year 7 through to Year 10 students only and will grow year on year until it reaches capacity. The school was constructed by Carillion and includes some outstanding facilities including a 3G All-Weather sports pitch, Amphitheatre and an impressive Learning Resource Centre which features a full height glazed wall. Accommodation includes light and airy classrooms, an open and bright dining hall, dance and drama studios, a large sixth form centre at the top of the building with views across the site and a range of well equipped science laboratories including a specialist 'show lab'. There is plenty of opportunity for the community to benefit from the excellent facilities as the building has been designed with community access in mind. All of the large accommodation including the Main Hall, Learning Resource Centre, Sports Hall, Drama Studio and Dance Studio are located at the front of the building. The external sports facilities are located to the side and front of the main building providing good access out of hours.
