From setting up camp in Birchover, to walking long distances with full kit, to completing their assessed expedition routes, they embraced every challenge with a fantastic attitude – even in changeable weather conditions! 🌦️💪

A huge well done to all students involved for their effort, perseverance and positivity throughout the week. You should be very proud of yourselves! ⭐

They Did THIS at the Park?! 15/06/2026

The wonderful sports ‘Activate’ event was back in Central Park recently with more sports clubs than ever offering taster sessions! 16 sports clubs from across the city were on show. Children from across the city were given a sticker card and when they visited the clubs and had a go they received a sticker. Over 10 stickers equalled a prize!

8 TDA students were on hand to help support the event and made sure all went well. TDA were in charge of the Table Tennis event working with the young children to give them a taste of the support. Our older 6th form students went out and about distributing the maps and sticker cards. All in all, given the changeable weather, it was a another example of TDA in the community doing what they do well 😊

They Did THIS at the Park?! We headed down to Central Park, Peterborough to check out Activate ...

Year 7 French Restaurant Trip – The Olive Grove, Hednesford 🍽️

📍 On Thursday 4th June, our Year 7 French students enjoyed a fantastic trip to The Olive Grove restaurant in Hednesford. This immersive experience gave students the opportunity to step outside the classroom and bring their learning to life in a real-world context. ✨

🍽️ Students took part in a three-course meal while interacting with native French-speaking waiters, using their French with growing confidence and spontaneity. It was wonderful to see them applying their recent learning on the topic of food so enthusiastically—ordering and responding entirely in French. The restaurant staff were particularly impressed with the students’ level of engagement, noting how enthusiastic they were throughout the experience! 👏

⭐ The atmosphere throughout the day was both engaging and supportive. Students were a credit to the school, demonstrating excellent behaviour and a willingness to participate fully in the experience. The trip ran smoothly from start to finish, with all arrangements well organised, making it an enjoyable and memorable day for everyone involved. 😊

🌟 TDA Juniors Residential Trip🌟

Our Years 5 and 6 pupils set off on Wednesday for their exciting residential trip to PGL Caythorpe! 🧳☀️

The sun made an appearance yesterday and everyone was in great spirits as they enjoyed a range of activities including abseiling, sensory trails, survivor challenges and PGL games 🧗‍♀️🌿🎯

Many pupils were up bright and early Thursday morning to enjoy some fresh air and make the most of the dry weather 🌤️ Even with a little typical summer rain, the fun has certainly continued! 🌧️😁

Nothing is stopping this group from making fantastic memories! 💙✨

🏏 The Year 10 Cricket Team travelled to Stamford Endowed School last week, where they played out a highly competitive match. TDA secured a narrow victory, bowling Stamford out with just six runs remaining. ⭐ Two outstanding players each claimed four wickets to seal the win.

👏 The team remain unbeaten this season, having already defeated Spalding Grammar, Ormiston Bushfield Academy, Wisbech Grammar and Stamford Endowed School. A fantastic achievement—well done all! 🎉

⚽ Today saw the launch of Peterborough PULSE (Partners Unite to Lead Sport & Exercise) at Peterborough United Football Stadium 🎉

Led by Living Better, the team has submitted a £1.4 million bid to help improve the lives of Peterborough residents, starting with opportunities for children and young people across the city 🌟

A special well done to TDA students Annabel and Weronika 👏
Their commitment to the project has been outstanding from the very beginning, and today they co-chaired discussion tables with real professionalism and confidence.
Leadership in action – well done both! 🙌

🥾 Bronze Duke of Edinburgh Expedition 🗺️

🌟 Over the weekend, 24 Year 9 students completed the final section of their The Duke of Edinburgh's Award Bronze expedition. Starting at Collyweston, they navigated a 15km route using only a map and compass before arriving at Sacrewell Farm, where they set up camp and cooked their evening meal. 🏕️🍴

👏 All six TDA character traits were on display throughout the weekend, and every student should be incredibly proud of this achievement. We encourage all of them to take on the Silver Award next year! ✨😊

💙 A huge thank you to the staff team who generously gave up their weekend to support the expedition and ensure all students completed the experience safely and successfully.
