Afterschool Room Manager/Holiday Club (maternity cover)

40 hours - all year round

Pay: up to £13.90

Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Room Manager to oversee the daily operations of our Afterschool club and Holiday Club. Alongside working in the preschool room as an Early Years Educator

The ideal candidate will possess strong management and leadership skills, with a passion for working with children. This role involves ensuring a safe, nurturing, and organised environment for children, while maintaining high standards of childcare and communication. The successful applicant will be responsible for supervising staff, coordinating activities, and fostering positive relationships with children and parents alike. This is a paid position suitable for individuals committed to early childhood education and childcare excellence.

Responsibilities

Manage the daily operations of the Afterschool room and Holiday Club, ensuring smooth and efficient functioning
Lead and supervise a team of childcare assistants and staff, providing guidance and support
Plan, organise, and oversee age-appropriate activities that promote learning and development
Maintain high standards of safety, cleanliness, and organisation within the childcare environment
Maintain a safe, stimulating and enjoyable environment
Communicate effectively with parents regarding their child's progress, behaviour, and daily routines
Ensure compliance with all health and safety regulations, including safeguarding procedures
Assist with onboarding new staff members and organise ongoing training sessions
Monitor children's behaviour and development, providing support where necessary
Maintain accurate records related to attendance, incidents, and developmental milestones
Providing support to the nursery with care of the children during the day to day activities in the nursery including sleep, toileting, first aid and toileting.
Provide a high quality, child-centred service to meet the needs of children, young people and their families, in line with the EYFS and Play Principles.
Work within our fun team supporting children to progress and develop their skills in the various areas of the EYFS.

a clear understanding of the early stages of development;
the ability to build relationships with parents based on trust;
knowledge of the weaning process;
evidence of first aid training;
evidence of a relevant qualification in childcare;
the ability to work as part of a team and share information well;
a love of creating exciting, engaging floor based play spaces.

Requirements

A full and relevant qualification in childcare at Level 2, 3 or above (Health and Social care qualifications are not considered full and relevant for this position)

Experience

Proven management experience within a childcare setting or nursery environment
Strong leadership skills with the ability to motivate and guide a team effectively
Experience working directly with children across various age groups
Knowledge of early childhood education principles and best practices in childcare
Excellent communication skills in English, both verbal and written
Previous experience in nursery or early childhood education settings is essential
This role offers an opportunity to make a meaningful impact on children's early development while working within a supportive team dedicated to quality childcare.

9am to 3pm - £21 per day

All sessions include meals, drinks and activities.

Nursery Practitioner Level 3 vacancy

Little Tigers Day Nursery are seeking a dedicated and passionate Nursery Practitioner to join our childcare team.

We are a fun, busy and friendly nursery with an out of school setting who firmly believe that every child should feel special and that every child learns through play. We care for over 240 amazing children and their families aged between two weeks and twelve years from all over the Peterborough area.

We can offer a position of up to 40 hours per week all year round depending on the right candidates requirements.

This role offers an opportunity to contribute to the development and well-being of children in a nurturing environment, supporting their early childhood education and growth. The successful applicant will be responsible for creating a safe, engaging, and educational atmosphere for children aged from infancy to preschool age.

Your daily duties will include:

Providing support to the nursery with care of the children during the day to day activities in the nursery including sleep, toileting, first aid and toileting.

Maintaining a safe, stimulating and enjoyable environment.

To provide a high quality, child-centred service to meet the needs of children, young people and their families, in line with the EYFS and Play Principles.

To work within our fun team supporting children to progress and develop their skills in the various areas of the EYFS.

Plan and deliver age-appropriate activities that promote learning, development, and socialisation among children.

Foster positive relationships with children, parents, and colleagues through effective communication.

Support children's emotional needs by providing comfort and reassurance as required.

Assist in the assessment of children's progress and contribute to their individual development plans.

Lead by example in demonstrating good behaviour, management techniques, and childcare practices.

Ensure compliance with all nursery policies, procedures, and regulatory standards related to early childhood education.
