Meet Darren our Project Coordinator for Project Jack with an exciting update.
The CP Learning Trust not-for profit charity will be stripping to rebuild Jack a 1990's Land Rover Defender. With thanks to The National Lottery Community Fund Awards for All for kick starting this project. Jack (the Land Rover) turned out to be a bit of a Lemon. Older viewers will recognise the Hollywood link. 🍋😂

We will totally strip Jack back to his bare chassis and then restore, fabricate, replace all the dodgy bits. There are a few. He will probably receive a lick of paint, and get a nice new MOT Certificate. Then Jack will be off to a new owner, with the method yet to be decided, but most likely through an on-line auction or raffle. Then with any monies made we will look for another Landy and start all over again.

The idea is that people can boost their wellbeing, confidence and skills by being a member of a multigenerational team. We are working with lots of partners who support social prescribing and educational pathways. We will have older members who can pass down their years of knowledge to younger team members who may be interested becoming involved in the vehicle industry from being mechanics, fitters, welders, body work prep/ body work finishers, upholsterers, parts clerks etc. Or perhaps, members would just like to work on their own vehicles.

The workshop was started around the end April, and we are so close now to be able to offer sessions. Lots of people to thank, and we will post an extensive list of contributors and partners when things settle.

We are hopefully, looking to start offering sessions at the end of September. These will initially run on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 10am to 1pm. You can find us at The Secret Garden, Mile Tree Lane, Wisbech PE13 4TR next door to Shedders and Fixers.

A milestone at our Orchard site as we recreate a pre drained Fen 💚🩵

4 years ago we started by scything the orchard site, last year we were creating Operation Orchard Garden. Yesterday, after over 2 years of planning and research we completed part 1a of Project Fen Garden (video coming soon). Want to know more? Pop over to March Armed Forces Fair on Sunday.

It's Shedders and Fixers open Day with Craft Fair at The Secret Garden this coming Sunday the 23rd August.

The CP Learning Trust's new workshop for 'Project Jack', a community rebuild of a Land Rover 110 will also be open to the public. We are hoping to start sessions mid to late September, Initially on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 10am to 1pm. If you think that you'd like to get your hands greasy, then come and look for me at the workshop next to Shedders and Fixers, and I can give you more information.

Plenty of activities to try your hand at in the Shedders and Fixers shed and in the main entertainment area at The Secret Garden. Local craft stalls, refreshments, and of course the lovely Potting Shed for a cool glass of something!

All proceeds going to the not-for-profit charity Shedders and Fixers to help towards building improvements.
