Heritage skills, being shared and preserved by our brilliant trusted tutors ❀️ Both these heritage crafts are on the red list as endangered so we hope we are supporting to artisans to continue, share and inspire others to keep these skills alive. 🌾

Corn in the Fens and Lethe's Crafts, rush and willow. Collaborating at the orchard. They both run clubs on the site and we look forward to doing more workshops in the future

🍏 We'll be at the Fenland Food Festival in September come and say hello 🍎

🍏 CELEBRATING THE HERITAGE OF THE FENS! 🌳
We are thrilled to spotlight the wonderful Fenland Orchards Project, who will be bringing the deep history and natural beauty of our local landscape right to the heart of the Fenland Food Festival 2026!

Supported by the National Lottery Heritage Fund, this fantastic initiative is all about connecting our community to heritage fruit growingβ€”including local Wisbech varieties of apples, pears, plums, and cherries.

At the festival, they aren't just exhibiting; they are taking center stage to share their passion and knowledge with an incredible session:

🎀 Community Engagement & Interactive Talk: Meet community development worker Andrew Callaghan and the project team to learn about their local community orchard site, volunteer opportunities, and their work protecting over 60 species of local flora and fauna!

🍳 Special Talk & Cookery Demo: Head over to the demonstration stage for an exclusive joint session featuring Andrew Callaghan & Alison Crouch from the Ferry Project Cookery School. Together, they will dive deep into the world of Fenland apples, showing you how to turn local heritage orchard fruits into spectacular, easy dishes.

Come celebrate the unique landscape, history, and culinary skills of the Fens:
