New Range Riding School & Rescue Centre

Congratulations Carrie-ann & Rep at Equifest yesterday!💜

After a taxing morning with Fread & worrying us all. Carrie-ann bravely persevered to school Fread on with our lovely friend Becky Twinn. It was evident he wasn’t going to settle for his next class.

Therefore with only minutes to spare there was a very quick turn around with the help of Becky, Paula Mills & Lucy Armstrong to have Rep competition ready instead. He had been taken along for a day out as a companion for Fread.

Well Rep lit up in the Show ring & strutted his stuff to show Fread how it should be done & Carrie-ann rode him beautifully. They went on to take 3rd place in a very strong class of 11 veterans, where at 26 years old he was the eldest.

The judge commended Carrie-ann on how lovely it was to see an older horse in such good condition, well loved & cared for which truly showed, including in the way she rode him too.

Thank you to everyone who helped beforehand & on the day. Also to all of you who turned out to support Carrie-ann & the boys, that was amazing.

We are very proud of them both, they did a lovely individual equitation display & the rosette was well deserved. Xx

🐴 Pony mornings-grooming,tacking up,1 hours riding tuition,untack and massage pony and stable management.
9.30 a.m -1.00 p.m £30.
Or
🐴 Own a Pony/horse for the Day-doing all the pony morning activities and then in the afternoon we teach pony care. Talks,demos and practicals on different topics each time e.g plaiting,trimming,first aid etc and general care of your pony, stable,feed and tack care,with regular quizzes to note progression!
9.30 a.m - 4.00 p.m all for £35 excellent value! (Tuesday's ,Thursday's in holidays) and of course every Saturday!
All above lessons are suitable for school age children of all abilities.
( other lessons are available for little ones)

Day 3 & some pictures from over the 3 days getting ready for Show day & Gymkhana! They also had more awards on day 3 , the Instructors achievement awards & a 3 day Pony School completion certificate!

Day 2 Pony School Show day & Gymkhana Winnings!

What a great Show day!
With beginners improving their riding skills & pony care in their first Show, marked out of 10 for each of the sections. From plaiting & turnout through to riding e.g use of aids, riding position, control, partnership & lots more. Finishing the event with their first Handy Pony test-lots of tasks completed on horseback that are not usually in lessons, including posting a letter!

Our more experienced riders competed in their first dressage test. They were marked on e.g riding schooling figures, transitions at set markers, accuracy,straightness, rhythm , before this they were judged on their turnout too.
Then they competed in a timed Showjumping competition!

During the afternoon all riders took part in our Gymkhana, with team games of ride & run with variations & apple bobbing!

Lots of rosettes, certificates & medals were won!
Well done everyone, you all did so well!

Day 2 of our 1st 3 day Summer Pony School 2026!
The new pony/horse owners did so well, from the beginners riding their first ever show and gymkhana. Through to the more experienced riders competing in their first dressage test and showjumping competition. Well done!
They all went home with certificates, beautiful rosettes and even a medal!
Thank you & well done to Carrie-ann for organising today and Karl ,our new lady Paula & other helpers & of course our wonderful horses and ponies!

A description of our different lessons
for SCHOOL AGE CHILDREN!
For all the new customers,this is what we do!
We are a riding school with a difference!
We teach horse care & management as well as riding tuition.
We teach you to ride technically properly using your body & the kindest way to the horse.( all our horses are in the kindest tack, snaffle mouthed or bit-less)
We are a rescue centre and all our horses have a home for life.
