This week we have been talking about the colours and taste of fruits and different things we can do with fruit when they are very ripe , so today we had lots of fun baking banana cakes.

Everyone had the opportunity to weight some ingredients, mix the ingredients together using a spoon, hand whisk and a rotating whisk and then fill the paper cases up.

We looked at the different texture of the ingredients, spoke about the different numbers of the scales and discussed the different uses of the tools we used.

So many opportunities for learning from something that was so much fun.

Well done everyone for you great listening and giving everything a try . We hope you enjoyed eating them .

Today we had a wonderful Spanglish session with the lovely Rachel.

Rachel sang a range of songs including Incy wincy spider, wind the bobbin up, 4 little monkeys, row row row your boat and 1,2,3,4,5 once I caught a fish alive.

She included some brilliant props, a parachute and a bubble machine. Rachel sang a version of the song in English then in Spanish . The children were really engaged, enjoyed all the actions and as you can imagine the bubble machine was a huge hit!

Rachel will be doing further sessions with us every other week.

Welcome back everyone ❤️. It has been wonderful to welcome back some of our little learners and get to meet our new families.
It has been such a positive start to the term , everyone is settling in really well and making daily progress with their new routine of attending preschool. We are extremely proud of you all 🥰.

Arts and crafts remain popular we have been printing , painting, colour mixing , using water and brushes to make patterns and ink pad printing….we have seen lots of beautiful pictures.

We have observed lots of determination and perseverance trying to complete puzzles, our little learners have really challenged themselves and succeeded, they have done so well 🏅

Pirates , treasure and torches have been a big part of our week…we hide gems and jewels around pre school,then the children have their treasure bags and torches to find the treasure …this promoted fantastic colour recognition, shape recognition and counting skills. We did also have a few children peeking while we hid the gems ….you know who you are 😂😂.

We have seen some great construction building homes for the animals and brilliant team work supporting each other.

A massive thankyou to all our parents for you continued support , it’s lovely to see you all back 😊

Wow what a final week we had🥰.

Our leavers party was great fun, the bouncy castle was a great experience, some of our little learners must of slept very well after hours of bouncing 😂.

The glitter tattoos were very popular, we loved some of their colour choices and designs.

We loved watching the excitement on their faces when we played pass the parcel, the anticipation when they would win a prize, and the patience waiting !! They were brilliant ❤️.

On behalf of everyone I would like to say a massive thankyou for all you kind words, cards and gifts , your kindness and generosity was totally overwhelming, thankyou all so much ❤️.

To all our families leaving for their next chapter , I know they will succeed at everything they try, you all have amazing children and they are a credit to you ! When you have the time please update us on how they are settling in to their new school. You will all be greatly missed.

To all our returning families it’s been an absolute pleasure getting to know you all, I hope you have an amazing 6wks and look forward to seeing you all in September.

We have been focusing on our hand eye co ordination and fine motor skills. Everyone’s scissor control is greatly improving and we are very proud of the perserverance our little learners have shown.

We have been using screw drivers to turn the screws into different plastic parts creating different dinosaurs.

Mark making remains popular , lots of stencils have been used , again showing great control and co ordination, we have then used different colours to decorate our designs.

We’ve seen some creative pictures from are college materials .

The children have shown us their amazing jumping skills, waiting and turn taking.

Water play has been a huge part of our play to help keep cool, we have been treasurer hunting in water, smashing ice, painting outside furniture with water and pouring and filling from different containers.

We have seen some amazing constructing activities , we were looking at how many construction poles we needed to be taller than one of the adults, it took 17!!

We have been looking at the formation of the letters of our names.

Our little learners are brilliant at solving our puzzles, they worked together to complete the stick man,.

We wanted to thank you all for sending in sun cream, sun hats and showing your support through the hot weather .

A special thank you to one of our loverly grandmas …those bottles of ice water were very much appreciated thank you❤️
