The rain didn’t stop us the week, we put our waterproofs on and had some fun outside!!
We have been looking at shadows and patterns with our torches, this soon led to making a den and hiding from the adults 😂❤️.
We have been practicing our motor skills and problem solving with different puzzles and construction, yet again we have seen some brilliant team work and persererance.
The children initiated making a car from foam blocks , loading it with toys ready for their beach holiday , I really hope they don’t take this much on their real holidays😂.
We have seen some beautiful art creations, lots of time and patients spent of them.

We made the most of the loverly weather before half term and had lots of water and ice play, the children were transporting and pumping the water and they even had a loverly paddle to cool down.
As bug hunting still remains popular we used organic cocoa soil inside , watched it swell in water , broke it apart and added bugs….the children had a great time !!
We have been exploring colour mixing using paints and water then creating fantastic pieces of art work.
We have been looking at numerals, tracing them and counting objects.
Thank you everyone for bringing in spare clothes, sun hats and suncream😊❤️

This week we made flat bread using Greek yoghurt and self raising flour.
We saw great counting, mixing, rolling and turn taking.
The children really enjoyed this activity and all the flat breads were eaten!!

We have been focusing a lot on our hand eye coordination and fine motor skills using scissors, paper cutters, magnetic boards and following patterns to create numbers.
We have seen a lot of positive progress in this area! Well done everyone.
We had lots of fun washing the animals and seeing what ones float and sink.
Weve made some great mud cakes from natural resources in the garden with added ice.
Books remain very popular and have been reading some great stories ….Going on a bear hunt is extremely popular.

We have been exploring and mixing colours while creating potions using ice , coloured water, grass, flowers , scented teabags and bottles. Once the ice melted we used out motor skills to paint the play house .
We saw great imagination and team work creating fantastic buildings from wooden blocks, the time , concentration and persistence building these structures was amazing!!
We have used different stickers to create beautiful artwork while building on our colour and shape recognition.
Our little learners have been practicing their cutting skills this week , we have seen some great determination!!
To practice our fine motor skills and hand eye coordination we have been using our wooden blocks with screws and screwdrivers….we have a lot of builders in the making ❤️

Another exciting week at Folksworth Pre School!
We have been exploring what resources we have that are magnetic, how magnets work and how many magnetic items can connect together in one go 😂.
We enjoyed the loverly warm weather painting the garden with water and paint brushes, we collected grass and flowers added them to water then ice cube trays , froze them then had lots of fun playing with ice trying to get the flowers out.
Construction has been very popular, we saw fantastic team work building an amazing train track.
We used construction poles to make different areas for cars and animals, great coordination and motor skills used!
We have read a lot of stories this week and our little learners have been keen to explore books and pictures alone.
We had a great music session exploring loud,quiet, fast,slow, hard and gentle movements, we saw brilliant listening.
As the weather is a little unpredictable at the moment if you could put a hat, sun cream and shorts in your children’s bag then we can help them be prepared for the daily changes in the weather 🫣😂

Welcome back everyone, 😊 it has been great seeing you all , hearing about your Easter bunny treats and your activities over the Easter holidays.
Our loverly little learners have returned with a sustained interest in bugs (sorry mums and dads 🫣😂)….we have been bug hunting …who would of know how many different bugs we had in our garden…..we do now 😂..
We have hidden bugs in sand ( plastic bugs only) , made bug homes using pots and wood.
We have explored paints and colour mixing , looking at colours and shades of colours.
Lots of role play with dressing up, dolls house , pirate ship and play kitchen.
We have enjoyed the garden exploring sand, water and ice .
We have had a lot of self selection activities from the resource units, which is great to see!!

To celebrate national scribble day the children had the opportunity to expressive their creativity using fabric paints , brushes and foam stampers to design their own T-shirts . That creativity was flowing !

Our last week before Easter has been another busy one…bugs remain extremely popular and I’m sorry for the continued bug selection coming home 😂😂
We have seen a lot of interest in names of different bugs, looking at the differences, similarities, comparing pictures and drawing our own versions…very impressive ❤️
We have seen great team work again and lovely sharing, we are so proud of the kindness we see .
We have decorated Easter egg shapes talking about colours and shapes, used feathers discussing the feel of them and animals that have feathers.
Thank you all for your continued support and kind words , we appreciate you all.

Bugs have been really popular this week, we went bug hunting in the garden and found spiders , ladybugs, millipede and earwigs, we made pretend bug houses inside and used nets and magnifying glasses to look at sizes.
The children wanted to use masks and were role playing being animals and feeding each other in the home corner.
We saw some lovely structures with the building blocks including cars and towers and a house.
We have seen some brilliant problem solving with puzzles and beads.
We made cups of tea in the tuff tray with pots, teabags , spoons, teapots.
Another brilliant fun week .
