We were delighted to welcome Heather, a Dementia Friends Ambassador from the Alzheimer’s Society, to deliver an enrichment session for some of our healthcare and childcare learners.
Through a really informative and interactive session, learners explored what dementia is, the impact it can have, and how with greater understanding we can better support people living with dementia, along with their families and carers.
The session included engaging activities, and everyone who attended received their “Forget Me Not” badge, officially becoming a Dementia Friend 💙
We also heard more about her incredible work as a volunteer with the Society and Dementia Friends, as well as her personal experience as a carer for her mum, which brought real insight and meaning to the session.
A huge thank you for such an inspiring and powerful session. We’re looking forward to welcoming her back to work with more of our learners soon.
