🌿 UNDER 5s FOREST SCHOOL, WHAT A DAY! 🌿

We had such a brilliant time at our Under 5s Forest School today.

The children made their own chalk paint using hammers and water, then used it to decorate shells with the most beautiful colours and patterns.

There was sand play, lots of imaginative fun, homemade binoculars, and a little adventure around the community gardens to see what treasures we could find.

Back at camp, the mud kitchen was in full swing with plenty of free play and child‑led exploration.

These kinds of rich, hands‑on experiences are exactly what we teach in our Nature Practitioner Level 2 training, helping practitioners build confidence outdoors, understand nature‑based pedagogy, and create meaningful learning opportunities just like these.

If you love what we do and want to deepen your own outdoor practice, Level 2 is the perfect first step.

Sign up now and grab one of the last spots for this year ÂŁ199 there is also a pay monthly option.

🌿 Where the Wild Ones Learn: Roots of Learning 🌿

Today I’m sharing a little behind‑the‑scenes look at our book and the heart of our work, our seven principles of wild pedagogy.

In the video, I talk about what these principles look like in real practice, the messy magic, the child‑led moments, the deep learning that happens when we trust nature, trust children, and trust ourselves.

This book was written to give practitioners, parents and settings a framework that feels real, grounded and achievable.

Not a checklist.
Not a performance.

Just meaningful, relational, nature‑rooted practice that honours the whole child.

If you’re curious about how to bring wild pedagogy into your everyday, whether you have a forest, a small garden, a courtyard or even indoor days, this is for you.

Let’s grow wild learners together.

🌿 Feeling unsure outdoors?

You’re not the only one.If any of these sound familiar…
✨ You second‑guess yourself
✨ You’re always hunting for new activity ideas
✨ You wonder if children are actually learning
✨ You feel more confident indoors
✨ You struggle with observations outdoors

You’re not alone, most practitioners were never taught how to feel confident, intentional and skilled in outdoor practice.

That’s exactly why our Nature Practitioner Level 2 course exists. It’s the first step on the pathway to becoming a fully qualified Nature Practitioner Level 3, a role designed specifically for Early Years, equivalent in level to Forest School Level 3, and insurable.

Level 2 gives you:
🌱 Practical, child‑led outdoor activity ideas
🌱 Confidence to plan, observe and evidence learning outdoors
🌱 Skills to use natural materials with purpose
🌱 A deeper understanding of nature‑based pedagogy
🌱 A supportive community of practitioners who “get it”

If you’re ready to feel confident outdoors, and give children the rich, meaningful experiences they deserve, this is where it begins.Find out more about Level 2

Course starts in August, get one of the last spots now just ÂŁ199 with a pay monthly option.

🌿 Why Wild Pedagogy Matters 🌿

In this video I’m sharing a little more about our book Where the Wild Ones Learn: The Roots of Learning. and specifically, the roots of why wild pedagogy is so powerful for children.

When we step outside the walls of the classroom, something shifts.
Children move differently.
They think differently.

They become different learners.Wild pedagogy isn’t about having acres of woodland. It’s about giving children the freedom to follow their instincts, to explore with their whole bodies, and to learn through the rhythms of the natural world. Whether it’s a forest, a small garden, a courtyard, or even an indoor day inspired by nature, the principles stay the same.

It’s about:
🌱 trusting children’s curiosity
🌱 slowing down enough to notice the tiny things
🌱 creating space for risk, wonder, and real connection
🌱 seeing learning as something lived, not delivered

This page of the book is one of my favourites because it reminds us that wild pedagogy isn’t a method, it’s a mindset. A way of seeing children as capable, creative, and deeply connected to the world around them.

Thank you for being here, for championing child‑led practice, and for helping the wild ones learn in the way they were born to.

🌿 NEW WEBINAR: PDA in the Early Years 🌿

We’re so excited to bring you this gentle, informative session all about supporting children with a PDA (Pathological Demand Avoidance or what we prefer Persistent Drive for Autonomy or Pervasive drive for autonomy) profile in early years settings.

This webinar is delivered by Rachel and Jodie, combining lived experience, professional insight, and real‑world early years practice.

🍃 About Rachel
Rachel is a parent to a child with a PDA profile and brings honest, grounded insight into what PDA looks like at home and in daily life. She also has experience in the early years sector and has managed residential homes for children with behavioural and complex needs.

🌼 About Jodie
Jodie is a nature‑based early years educator specialising in neuro‑affirming, child‑led practice. She supports practitioners to understand behaviour through the lens of the nervous system and create emotionally attuned environments where children feel safe and understood.

✨ In this webinar, we’ll explore:
• What PDA can look like in the early years
• Understanding behaviour through nervous system needs
• Practical, compassionate strategies you can use straight away
• How to reduce overwhelm and support regulation
• Sensitive ways to communicate with families

This session is perfect for childminders, early years practitioners, teachers, and anyone wanting to understand PDA in a more human, connected way.

💛 Join us for a supportive, eye‑opening session that puts the child at the heart of the practice.

🌿 Little Hands, Big Impact 🌿

Everyday moments become powerful learning when children explore how their choices shape the world around them. From saving water to caring for plants, from reusing materials to taking pride in tiny habits this is where eco‑thinking truly begins.

Through play, curiosity, and hands‑on exploration, children discover that they can make change. Not someday. Not when they’re older. Now. Our sustainability workshop helps practitioners bring these ideas to life with simple, meaningful activities that fit naturally into daily practice.

Because when we nurture awareness early, we grow protectors of the planet.

🌱 Small hands. Big change. 🌱
