So much fun in preschool today. We made beautiful, bright paintings to represent fireworks, using glitter to make them sparkle then made a pretend bonfire in the garden and enjoyed warm tomato soup as we talked about safety on Bonfire night. Whatever your plans this weekend, have fun and stay safe.

We had a lovely day of pumpkin crafts today. The children enjoyed the sensory activity of feeling the inside of the pumpkin, looking at the seeds and having fun designing and creating a smiling face. If you are enjoying Halloween activities with your children today, please have fun and stay safe.

It has been an amazing week, seeing returning children and welcoming new children and families. The children have settled in so well and everyone is very excited for the new term. We still have some spaces for 2, 3 and 4 year olds, talk to us about funding options.

We would like to wish all the children and families of Eyrescroft Preschool a very happy summer holiday. Congratulations to all our little graduates who had a lovely end of term party and celebration of all their achievements. The children have had a very busy week at Eyrescroft Preschool. Being imaginative in the home corner, learning about numbers whilst playing in the sand, music in the garden and enjoying the new book We're Going on a Lion Hunt by David Axtell.

We hope you are all enjoying the beautiful weather this week. In preschool the children have been learning about sun safety and how to keep ourselves healthy. Today we were able to find out about lots of different fruit and drew pictures of what we could see. Of course the best bit was eating the fruit for snack. Watermelon was our favourite!

For the last few weeks we have had baby Great Tit birds nesting in a birdbox in our large garden. The children have shown such a lot of interest in watching mummy and daddy bird coming and going with food, and this afternoon some of the children saw the babies leaving the nest! Seven Great Tit babies took their first flights and all the children watching were very encouraging, each baby bird received a cheer as it flew into a nearby tree. Sadly we have no photos as this was a 'wow, look what's happening' moment! but we are sure many of the children will remember this adventure for the longest time!
