Tonight, March students!!

Unfortunately, both March classes have had to be cancelled tonight.

Mr Markland is on holiday, and Miss Curren has broken down with the kit and keys.

Iโ€™ve tried to get a key from the hall, but unfortunately I havenโ€™t been able to, so we have no other option but to cancel tonight.

Sorry for the inconvenience.

Yesterday we focused on pad work, practising elbow strikes, knee strikes and combinations with control, accuracy and good technique.

From our Mighty Matts right through to our Juniors & Adults, we saw wonderful focus, effort and enthusiasm from everyone who stepped onto the floor.

Did you know that learning how to make a proper fist is one of the first skills taught in martial arts? ๐Ÿ‘Š๐Ÿผ๐Ÿฅ‹๐Ÿฅท๐Ÿผ

A correctly formed fist not only helps make your punches more effective, but it also helps protect your hands and wrists from injury.

Follow these simple steps:

Step 1: Start with your fingers straight and together.

Step 2: Curl your fingertips into your palm.

Step 3: Wrap your fingers tightly over the top.

Step 4: Place your thumb across the outside of your first two fingers. Never tuck your thumb inside your fist.

Step 5: Keep your wrist straight and strong.

Why it's IMPORTANT: A loose fist can reduce power and increase the chance of hurting your hand.
A proper fist helps transfer power safely and teaches good technique from the very beginning.
