On Monday, all year groups took part in a knife crime prevention workshop.

The workshop used a combination of performance, storytelling, and honest discussion to explore the reality of knife crime and the choices available to young people.

It was a thought-provoking session, and MDSA students were fully engaged and highly responsive to this important message.

We are incredibly proud of our six Year 10 Sports Leaders, who volunteered over three days to support Sports Day at Manor Drive Primary Academy last week.

Their confidence, enthusiasm, dedication and commitment helped make the event a huge success, providing encouragement and support to all the children who took part.

The feedback from the primary school has been fantastic:

"A huge thank you to your sports ambassadors; they have been amazing and are a credit to your school. Their help, dedication and support to all the children over the course of three days made our Sports Day a success."

Well done to all involved for being such outstanding role models and ambassadors for our school community!

🎨 Last Friday, students at MDSA enjoyed a fantastic creative workshop with illustrator Emily Bowers!

The session encouraged students to explore mark-making, drawing to scale, and memory drawing while thinking about the connection between art, nature, and wellbeing. Students discussed thought-provoking questions such as:

🌿 How can creativity in public spaces affect people?
🌳 What aspects of nature inspire you?
😊 How do green spaces make us feel?

The artwork and ideas created during the session will help inspire a brand-new outdoor artwork in Eye village. Thank you to Emily for leading such an engaging and inspiring workshop!

✨ Want to get involved? More FREE creative workshops for 12–16-year-olds are coming up in Eye. Young people and their families can find out more and book their FREE place via the Eventbrite links here:

A huge well done to Pola in year 7, who has completed additional History work at home on King John, a topic we have been studying as part of our β€˜Power and the Monarchs’ unit.

In this topic, students explore how the power of monarchs changed during the Medieval period and the events that shaped the relationship between rulers and their subjects.

Pola demonstrated excellent historical understanding, independent learning, and a real enthusiasm for the subject.

We are always delighted to see students extending their learning beyond the classroom, and Pola’s effort is a fantastic example of this.

We were delighted to take two of our talented linguists to the Translation Bee Competition at Comberton Village College in Cambridge who represented Manor Drive Academy with enthusiasm and maturity. They bravely competed against other schools in the regional competition. The competition challenged students to translate sentences from English into French accurately and quickly, testing both their language knowledge and confidence under pressure. We are incredibly proud of how they represented the academy and embraced the challenge with incredible language skills.
