Some of our learners at Sense College Dereham visited the NR Foundation Wellbeing Hub earlier this month for an inclusion session which was organised and funded, through Active Norfolk.

The students had a tour of the gym and took part in a chair fit session. They were also taught some boxing moves and had a go with the punchbag. Huge thanks to Toby at the gym for letting us come along. The students will be visiting again next month.

In January, a group of our Sense College Bedford students set off for Milton Keynes Theatre to enjoy the spectacular production of Goldilocks and the Three Bears. The classic call‑and‑response rang out — “Oh no they didn’t!” quickly met with a roaring “Oh yes they did!”

The afternoon was packed with dancing, singing, and endless laughter, and our students threw themselves into every moment. It was a joyful trip that left everyone buzzing with excitement long after the final curtain fell.

Sense College Bedford having been enjoying their enterprise project, making student and staff lunches every Wednesday. Taking orders, buying the stock and fulfilling orders. Not only are they learning valuable work experience skills, they are also using their math & English skills too! "They've gone down so well this term we are doing jacket potatoes" ☺️

Our students and staff at Sense College Bedford have been supporting one of their own this term. Staff member Kelise will be running the London Marathon next year fundraising for Sense. So everyone came together to arrange a Christmas Fayre at the centre to add to the total amount raised so far!

You can read her story and donate if you would like to via her Just Giving page Https://www.justgiving.com/page/kelise-amber-quinnell26?utm_medium=FR&utm_source=CL

As part of Sense’s 70th Birthday celebrations, and to get our whole college topic of Healthy Mind/Healthy Body off to a flying start, Sense College East gave our students and staff a 475 miles Roll & Stroll Challenge!

475 miles is the shortest distance travelled between all of our centres and back to the start again!

Everyone joined in and charted their milage between 17th November & 17th December.

Having confirmed the final tally, I can proudly say that they smashed it! We managed a total of 1,708 miles…….WOW……that’s nearly 5 million steps!!!!!!!!

A massive well done to everyone who took part, you are, as always, absolutely amazing ♥

A HUGE congratulations to Deputy Service Manager at Sense College Streatley who recently won a SENSE PEOPLE AWARD. Crystal had the pleasure of Jack Lowman – Chief Social Change Officer visiting the centre to present her award for Equality, Diversity and Inclusion Champion 2025. Staff and students came together to watch the ceremony and to celebrate with Crystal when it was announced that she has won!

This award recognises individuals that go above and beyond to create an environment where everyone feels valued, respected and supported. Crystal does this every single day. Her passion for amplifying unheard voices and the continuous work to promote an inclusive culture have made a real and lasting impact on our learners and the wider community.

This award is a well- deserved achievement and the centre is very lucky and proud to have Crystal onboard!

And an additional well done to our Cross College Student Forum who were runners up in the same category. Go Team Sense!
