We are so incredibly proud of all that took part! And our very own Liam won for year 3 with his amazing writing skills! 🏆
The results of our Oundle KidLit 2026 Writing Competition are in!
Thank you for all of your wonderful entries this year, The theme was Time Travel, chosen because several of our appearing authors have written books involving that.
You met dancing aliens on Mars, followed twisting tunnels to future cities, and met evil alter-egos who turned out to be not so bad in the end! You went back in time to learn dance moves from Michael Jackson and helped put out the Great Fire of London with Samuel Pepys. You played hide and seek with a young Princess Elizabeth and also met her in the year that she became Queen Elizabeth II, when she helped you fix your broken time machine. You wanted to meet cavemen and dinosaurs, Greek heroes, King Arthur, and Julius Caesar; to warn the captain of the Titanic and the soldiers who would fight in the two world wars; and to check the future for robots and AI. You rescued a baby snow leopard from a future cloud city and saw robots and flying cars from a magic cave.
… as you can tell, we had a ball reading all of these wonderful stories and poems, and the judges had very difficult job deciding between them. Whether you won or not, thank you for taking part, and carry on reading as widely as possible and writing as much as possible - A) because it's fun and B) because those are the two things that make your writing EVEN better!
We have goody bags as prizes for winners and runners up, and small treats for highly commended children, all of which will be delivered to your schools this week.
Check out the full video announcement on the link below for runners up and highly commended children as well as the winners.
