Skin-to-Skin Contact: One of the most powerful first gifts you can give your baby
As an IBCLC, I always recommend immediate and frequent skin-to-skin time because the benefits are truly remarkable:
❤️ Stabilizes baby’s heart rate, breathing & temperature
🍼 Helps regulate blood sugar levels
🧠 Supports healthy brain development
🤱 Encourages natural breastfeeding instincts & better latch
😌 Reduces stress hormones for both mom & baby
🛡️ Boosts baby’s immune system through beneficial bacteria transfer
💕 Promotes secure bonding & emotional regulation
The best part? It’s simple, free, and feels incredible.
Just place your naked baby (wearing only a diaper) on your bare chest, cover both of you with a blanket, and soak in those precious moments.
Dads & partners — this is for you too! Skin-to-skin isn’t just for moms.
Save this post & tag a new or expecting parent who needs to see it 💕

Suggested Image for the Post:
A warm, realistic, and tender photo of a mother doing skin-to-skin with her newborn (similar style to the one I generated for you earlier). Soft natural lighting, peaceful hospital or home setting, gentle close-up showing the baby’s cheek against mom’s chest, both looking calm and content. You can use the image I already created or ask me to generate a new one optimized for Instagram (square or portrait crop).
Would you like me to generate a fresh image specifically styled for this Instagram post? Just say yes and I can create one with the right composition and warm, inviting feel.

Happy IBCLC Day! 💜
Today we celebrate the heart, science, and dedication behind the credential of International Board Certified Lactation Consultants.
As an IBCLC, I’m honored to support families through one of the most vulnerable and powerful seasons of life. Lactation support isn’t just about feeding — it’s about confidence, education, advocacy, and evidence-based care.
Becoming certified through the International Board of Lactation Consultant Examiners requires rigorous clinical hours, comprehensive health science education, and passing a board examination. It represents the highest standard of lactation care worldwide.
Whether you’re exclusively breastfeeding, combo feeding, pumping, navigating tongue ties, low supply, oversupply, or just needing reassurance — IBCLCs are here for you.
To every family who has trusted me, thank you. And to my fellow IBCLCs — your work changes lives every single day.

✨ One year of breastfeeding ✨
“Just wanted to say hello again. We made it past a year of breastfeeding. Jonah is the happiest boy and I have so much gratitude to you for helping him and us! You made such a huge difference in my life. I refer you every chance I get!”

Messages like this are why I do what I do!! Supporting families from the early newborn days through meaningful milestones like one year is such an honor.

Watching babies grow, thrive, and stay connected at the breast is something truly special.
Congratulations to this beautiful family on one year of breastfeeding 🤍

If you’re hoping to reach your feeding goals, you don’t have to do it alone. I’m here to help.

"IBCLCs offer oral assessments.
Seeing an International Board Certified Lactation Consultant (IBCLC) perform a thorough oral assessment can make all the difference in your breastfeeding journey.
We gently check your baby's tongue mobility, lip function, palate, suck strength, and more — going far beyond just "looking" to understand how it impacts feeding, latch, milk transfer, and even future speech/dental health.
Early assessment helps identify restrictions (like ties) or functional issues before they turn into bigger challenges like pain, low supply, or poor weight gain.
If feeding feels off, don't wait — reach out to an IBCLC for expert, evidence-based support. Your baby (and your ni***es!) will thank you. 😊
DM me to book a consult or comment below if you've had an oral assessment that changed everything!

✨ Your milk is coming in—right on time.
In the early days, your baby’s tummy is very small. That means the tiny amounts of colostrum your body makes are exactly what your baby needs. 💜
🍼 Day 1: about 1–2 teaspoons (cherry-sized tummy)
🍼 Day 3: about 0.5–1 ounce (strawberry-sized tummy)
🍼 By Day 7: about 1–2 ounces per feeding
Frequent feeding helps signal your body to increase supply as your baby grows. Small, often, and responsive feeding is normal and expected.
If you’re wondering whether things are on track, you’re not alone—and you don’t have to figure it out by yourself. Support can make all the difference in these early days.
