From where it all began to one of Scotland’s busiest general aviation airfields. This historic photo shows Newlands Aerodrome, Scone, in the early days of what is now Perth Airport. Today we recorded 263 aircraft movements, showing just how important Perth remains for flight training and general aviation nearly 90 years later.

Our visit to the National Museum of Flight at East Fortune on Saturday 26th September is now FULLY BOOKED! We’ve had a fantastic response from ACS Aviation students and members, and all available spaces have been snapped up. It’s great to see so much interest, and following the popularity of this trip, we’ll be planning more member events and excursions in the future. Keep an eye out for what’s coming next.

Our Managing Director managed to squeeze in a quick ride in the iconic Spitfire at Perth Airport. A fantastic opportunity to experience one of aviation’s most legendary aircraft and a great reminder of the history, passion and excitement that continues to make aviation so special.

We’re pleased to support the launch of the new PPL Flight Instructor Sponsorship Programme from ACS Flight Training at Perth Airport this September. Successful applicants will be offered a permanent, full-time position with ACS Flight Training funding 75% of the Flight Instructor Certificate course fees, subject to a training agreement. The programme includes instructor training, standardisation and mentoring, providing a clear pathway into a professional career as a Flight Instructor at one of the UK’s busiest Approved Training Organisations. Another aircraft. Another success story. G-JKMH has officially joined the ACS Aviation fleet following an extensive restoration by our engineering team after acquiring the aircraft from FTA at Shoreham.

As a Diamond Aircraft Approved Service Centre, we’re proud to have returned this DA42 to full airworthy condition, where it will once again support the training of the next generation of professional pilots.

Busy day at Perth Airport yesterday with one of the military Wildcat helicopters on the ground and Ross handling the refuelling operation.
