Our vocal instructors Mrs McLennan, Ms Perman and Mr Whiteman have been hard at work in the studio this week prepping some fantastic resources for Big Sing 2027, and for our ‘PKC Sing’ YouTube channel. They can’t wait to share and deliver the 2027 Big Sing programme with our pupils and staff - it’s going to be fantastic!

A few of our IMS staff, parents & pupils are celebrating the beginning of the ‘new year’ by attending the Royal Edinburgh Military Tattoo 2026.

We’d like to thank the Scottish Schools Pipes and Drums Trust - SSPDT for gifting us these tickets and allowing our young pipers & drummers to experience such a wonderful show!

STICKS AND DRUM PAD AMNESTY FOR PIPE BAND DRUMMING PUPILS.

If your child has been learning pipe band drumming at school and is not continuing this year we would really appreciate it if you handed all sticks and drum pads issued by the music service into the school office for us to collect so we can pass these on to our new learners. All parents of pupils who are currently learning have been emailed with a link to reapply for tuition. If you plan to continue with lessons can the application form to continue please be submitted. Anyone not planning to continue should hand any sticks and pads back. Many thanks.

Summer holidays are almost over and we are straight back into music making. The first couple of weeks in the new term are already extremely busy with rehearsals, lessons, recruitment and trips to Edinburgh. On Tuesday 18th August we are taking a group of our piping and drumming pupils to watch the Edinburgh Military Tattoo and the following week on Wednesday 26th August you can catch our fabulous Perth Youth Orchestra in concert at Greyfriars Kirk. There are still places available on the parent/supporters bus for the PYO concert. Please contact the music service to reserve your place on the bus.
