Just a reminder that there are no Central Groups taking place tomorrow evening. (Thursday 8th October) due to family mass. We hope all our young musicians and families have a nice October break and we look forward to seeing everyone again after the holidays. Rehearsals will resume on Monday 26th October.

Our music co-ordinator had the privilege of spending an hour this afternoon at Dunbarney primary school to see their production of “Snow White and her 7 wee pals” what a brilliant take on the original and so good to see the P5 pupils involved. It wasn’t just the sessions with Beat Box Productions. The staff at the school fully supported this and helped the pupils make their own set. Unfortunately we couldn’t get any actual footage to share due to photo permissions but it was certainly a big cross-curricular effort made up of Music,Art and Scottish literature. Big shout out to the P7 leaders who introduced the show. Already looking forward to Thursday when Goodlyburn primary do their show. These projects are part of Creative Scotlands Youth Music initiative.

If you are looking for something to do during the holidays, this would be a great little concert for all.

Our third and final evening of Central Groups is home to all our string & percussion players!

We have a Junior String Orchestra with over 80 beginner string players, and a Senior String Orchestra with over 70 string players! Not forgetting our super Percussion Ensemble too.

What is also lovely to see is a full circle moment - Ola & Munro are two of our former pupils, who have now returned to help out at Central Groups!

Welcome back, our Wednesday night Central Group-ers!

Wednesday night is home to our Wind Orchestra, Concert Band, Guitar Ensemble, Brass Band, Pipe Band, and a very special new addition… our Development Pipe Band!

Just like Monday, we’re seeing a huge amount of our pupils coming along this evening from all across Perth and Kinross. We absolutely love hearing the music they’re making together, and the friendships they’re forming!

We’re edging closer to the October break, which means one thing… CENTRAL GROUPS ARE BACK!

Perth Youth Orchestra are kicking off the first week of rehearsals in style this evening. This is the largest PYO has been since Covid, and we are absolutely thrilled to see so many young musicians here tonight - returning and new! 🎻🪈🎺🥁

The young team have been in helping do a big clear out ready for all our Central Groups starting again this week. The pizza seemed to be the highlight of the afternoon.
