❤️ If you have noticed that things have been rather quiet here over the past few months, there is a reason.
My beautiful mum, Myra, died and I have been taking some time away from the world of social media to be with my family and then to find my way through the enormous sadness.
Mum was so deeply loved and her loss has left a very big space in all our lives.
Today feels particularly poignant because it would have been Mum and Dad's wedding anniversary.
My dad, Jim, died in June 2014, and somehow, twelve years later, here we are remembering them both, their life together, their family and the love that remains long after someone has gone.
So today I am allowing myself to acknowledge the pain and the sadness, but also the love.
And perhaps that is why, as I begin to return to this page, it feels right that the first thing I will eventually share with you is love.
Because over the summer, while life was changing profoundly for me personally, I was also incredibly privileged to witness something very beautiful in my professional life: couples making promises to one another, surrounded by the people they love, and beginning the next chapter of their lives together.
I have missed sharing those moments with you.
So, over the coming weeks, I will gently begin to introduce you to some of the wonderful couples I have had the privilege of marrying this summer.
Not with a sudden leap from sadness to celebration, but simply as a reminder that life holds all of it.
Love. Loss. Beginnings. Endings. Laughter. Tears.
And all the precious moments in between.
Thank you to everyone who has continued to support me, sent a message, given me space, or simply understood my silence.
And perhaps there is no more fitting way to begin than by remembering two people whose love created the family I am so grateful to be part of.
Happy anniversary, Mum and Dad. ❤️
With love, Diane
