Yesterday, the school held a lovely assembly to celebrate Mrs Hodgkinson’s retirement.
Memories were shared, stories were told, song were sung and there were certainly a few tears shed along the way.
It was a truly fitting assembly for Mrs Hodgkinson who has made such a lasting impression on the pupils of Abernethy Primary. She will be fondly remembered by them for many years to come.
Happy retirement, Mrs Hodgkinson 💐 We wish you all the very best for this exciting new chapter.
Mrs Hodgkinson also sent a lovely email this morning, which she has kindly asked us to share with all parents and carers…
🌻 Morning, I have just about recovered from the wonderful assembly that the amazing Abernethy pupils presented to me yesterday…. I tried my best to hold it together but…
For the last 17 years, Abernethy Primary School has been a very special part of my life.
I’ve shared so many happy memories with the children, staff and families, and I will always be incredibly grateful for the friendships, laughter and experiences we’ve shared.
Thank you so much for the very generous gift voucher, the beautiful plant and, most especially, for your incredibly kind words. I’m very much looking forward to visiting Rebecca’s Jewellery Studio — and this time, doing more than just window shopping!
We often hear that a school helps to build a community, but I truly believe it is the Abernethy community that helps makes Abernethy Primary such a special place. The whole Abernethy family has left a huge and lasting imprint on my heart.
Thank you for the memories,
The smiles and all the fun.
My time at Abernethy’s done,
And now my next stage has begun.
I miss you all very, very much and will always look back on my 17 years at Abernethy with enormous affection and gratitude.
Thank you for everything. ❤️
