Happy 9th birthday to the NTCS! 😀 In these remarkable times with the Covid lockdown, we wish all our site owners, managers, supporters and would-be visitors well. This time last year, we had just enjoyed our annual networking day on Bute (photo) and in June 2020 would have been at Castle Kennedy Gardens (photo). Here’s to happier times for our 10th anniversary in 2021, and being able to enjoy the spectacular NTCS sites once again when lockdown is lifted! 🌳🌲

That’s us done the GPS of all ICCP trees at NTCS GlasgowBotanicGardens, which includes a conservation hedge of 60 Chilean plum yews, Prumnopitys andina.🌲👍 Such a stunning place!

Well done to our well organised friends at Woodland Trust Scotland on Saturday for and at beautiful Kinclaven bluebell wood. It was a pleasure to join dozens of other volunteers in the crisp sunshine, helping to plant the first 3500 mixed native trees to extend this wonderful woodland.

The Scottish Tree Festival starts next week across Scotland and will run until early December...a great excuse to visit amazing trees with the family!🌲🌳 There are eight NTCS sites taking part, including: Crathes Castle, Garden & Estate, Ardkinglas Estate, Benmore Botanic Garden, Mount Stuart, Smeaton Nursery Garden & Tearooms, Royal Botanic Garden Edinburgh, Dawyck Botanic Garden and Castle Kennedy Gardens. We visited NTCS site Castle Kennedy Gardens in Stranraer on Friday and were spoiled by the magnificent weather! We met with reps from Scottish Forestry, Blebo Tree Surgery and the site owners to have a look at work that's been done on site to conserve tree health and improve the visitor experience. It's good to see bio-security measures in place there. It's a stunning place well worth a visit! http://castlekennedygardens.com/
