Hugh Congratulations to Andrew McGarrell from Coopers Butchers’s in Bellshill. Andrew has recently completed his Modern Apprenticeship SCQF 5 in Meat and Poultry .

Andrew started his career helping out in the bakery side of the business showing a interest in the meat side of the operation this was picked up and he was encouraged to sign up for the Craft Skills Scotland training program where he flourished, developing his manufacturing and knife skills. A huge part of Andrew’s development is down to the wealth of experience handed down by his mentors.

Preparing the next generation of Butchers’s in S.Cronnie butchers in Newton Stewart.

Pictured here Liam Cronnie receiving his Certification from his mentor (and Dad) Steven Cronnie.

Liam decided after leaving school he would like to pursue a career in the meat industry and hasn’t looked back.

His dad enrolled Liam on the training program working his way through the Modern Apprenticeship in Meat and Poultry SCQF 5 completing with flying colours.

The future is in good hands with Craig at the helm he has even convinced his dad to go part time giving him time to enjoy his motor bike trips.

Congratulations to Sonya Izzett from Bottom of the Hill Butchers in Clydebank,Glasgow for completing here Modern apprenticeship in Meat and Poultry Skills SCQF 5.

Sonya has a deli in the town and then came the opportunity to purchase a butchers. Sonya worked with a butcher picking up skills to develop her knowledge in the industry. Sonya then came across Craft Skills Scotland where she enrolled on the training program enhancing her knowledge and giving her the confidence she needed to succeed.

Sonya is successfulyl running the shop and has recently taken over another butcher premises in the area.
