🌳 Exploring Our Local Environment & Road Safety 🚦

As part of our learning through real-life experiences, the children have been enjoying exploring our local environment while out on walks. These walks provide valuable opportunities for children to notice and talk about the world around them, including local buildings, parks, nature, signs, vehicles and the different people within our community.

While walking, we are also developing children’s understanding of road safety, encouraging them to stop, look and listen, recognise safe places to cross and understand the importance of staying close to adults. Children are supported to develop their awareness of potential hazards and make safe choices when out in the community.

These experiences help children build confidence, independence and a sense of belonging within their local community, while developing important skills to help keep themselves and others safe. 🌿🚶‍♀️🚦

🐷The Three Little Pigs – Imaginative Learning & Outdoor Play 🏠

We were delighted to welcome Jen, who spent some time with the children this morning for a fun-filled session of storytelling, creativity and imaginative play.

We began by reading The Three Little Pigs, before heading outdoors to our Eco Garden to put our construction and teamwork skills to the test. Working collaboratively, the children used a range of natural materials to create their very own den. It was wonderful to see them exploring their surroundings, sharing ideas, developing problem-solving skills and using their imaginations.

Our learning continued in the Tuff Tray, where the children built a variety of houses and acted out different parts of the story. They thoroughly enjoyed bringing the familiar tale to life through role play and creating their own imaginative scenarios.

A fantastic morning of teamwork, creativity, communication and learning through play! 🌿🏠🐷

Our children enjoy exploring different tastes and textures, practising their self-help skills and developing positive mealtime experiences. 🍎

We encourage children to:
