For those who identify as just fiddlers or just violinists (or their lower strings equivalent), we will be joining forces, knocking down those stylistic barriers and learning how to play together, both by ear and with sheet-music, thus nurturing both skills. Repertoire will range from traditional and modern Scottish music to well known classics and to be honest, anything that fits nicely onto our amazing instrument. Other instruments will be welcome but the most technical attention will be given to those on violin, viola and cello. For the rest of this academic year, we'll be offering two classes -
🎻BRAND NEW PLAYERS (violin and viola only) - 4.30 - 5.30pm
🎻EXISTING PLAYERS - 6 - 7.30pm

WHERE :
Kilgraston School (drama studio)

COST :
Classes will cost £10 per person, payable via cash or card machine (tiny fee), on a pay as you go basis. Communication with members will happen here on this page as well as a WhatsApp Community Group, follow this link to add yourself to this group https://chat.whatsapp.com/G31mnew7Sv005HeelKePnF

Class is on tonight - Wednesday 13th May, before a little break for the remainder of May. We'll be back on for three weeks in June (3rd, 10th, 17th) - gosh, the year is racing by!

It was fascinating to hear the new research from UCL that was reported yesterday - stating that participating in the arts, such as our class leads to people staying biologically younger! It makes total sense to me as it's a full brain workout, physically demanding, social food for the soul, whilst being super enjoyable and rewarding to play as part of a group!

Research from UCL suggests visiting art galleries or museums, singing and painting can help improve health outcomes
