This morning we visited Kincarney House for a Teddy Bears’ Picnic. After the children enjoyed a snack and a drink, they were excited to show the residents their teddy bears. It was lovely to see the smiles and interactions between the children and the residents as they shared this special experience together 🧸

The group also enjoyed a variety of activities, including singing songs, throwing and catching bean bags, and playing ball games. The children participated enthusiastically, developing their communication, social, and physical skills while building positive relationships with the residents. The visit provided a warm, enjoyable, and meaningful intergenerational experience for everyone involved 🥰

This morning some of our 3-5 children had a wonderful time visiting Kincairney House care home, bringing smiles and laughter to everyone they met 🥰
The residents were delighted to see the children arrive, full of excitement and energy. Together, they played cheerful balloon games, gently tapping and passing the balloons to one another, which filled the room with giggles and happy chatter 🎈
The children then gathered to sing some of their favourite nursery rhymes, their bright voices lifting everyone’s spirits 🎶Many of the residents joined in, clapping along or singing the words they remembered, creating a heartwarming moment of connection between the generations. It was a truly special visit that brought joy to both the children and the residents alike ❤️

Today the children went on a walk around the local environment to explore seasonal changes. During the walk, the children were excited to notice early signs of spring 🌷They observed snowdrops, daffodils and crocuses growing along the pathways and grassy areas 🌼 Several children commented on the bright yellow of the daffodils and the small white petals of the snowdrops 🌺

While walking alongside the river, the children showed great enthusiasm when they spotted ducks in the water 🦆The children also enjoyed throwing small stones into the river, watching the splashes and ripples. They showed awareness of safety boundaries and listened carefully to reminders about staying a safe distance from the water’s edge 🌊

Throughout the walk, the children were engaged, communicative, and eager to share their observations with peers and adults 🥰

Yesterday we celebrated Random Act of Kindness Day in the most heartwarming way 💛

All of the children across our nursery created beautiful paintings filled with positive thoughts and kind words. We then delivered them around our local community to help spread smiles and brighten someone’s day! ☀️🌻

The children were so proud of their artwork and absolutely loved sharing their kindness with others. It was such a special experience to see their generosity and excitement in action! 🤩👏🏻

We are incredibly proud of our thoughtful, caring little ones for making our community smile! ⭐️

What a great visit to tesco for some of our 3-5 room children today based on healthy eating 🍌🥒🥕🍓
The lovely Annette and Fiona welcomed us all with our own Tesco badges and had organised a fruit and vegetable scavenger hunt for the children to take part in around the store which was great fun 🍒🫑🍇🌽
The children then got to look around the bakery before enjoying a tasty snack of tiger bread, strawberries and a carton of apple juice before we headed back to nursery. 😊
Our trip was made even more exciting as we took the bus to and from Tesco and one of the buses we got was a double decker 🚌
Even simoa enjoyed our Tesco visit, especially the delicious strawberries 🐘🍓😊

“We can see very high sitting on the top of this bus”
“Strawberries are my favourite”
“Chocolate isn’t healthy”
“Cookies are a treat as they have chocolate in them”
“There are lots of different sized tomatoes”

(UNCRC) Article 31 - supporting children’s right to play and leisure in safe environments ❤️

The Tweenies have been learning to explore their outdoor space safely and confidently and do this by taking the lead in risk assessing our garden before play - working together using a tick chart to make sure everything is safe and ready for adventure ✅

We also take SIMOA the elephant along with us, helping children identify risks, make decisions, and stay safe while enjoying the freedom to explore! 🐘

It wouldn’t be a Tweenies table display if we didn’t link it to our learning of the day!
Today’s display was no different, with our centrepieces tying in perfectly with our Burns Day celebrations! 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿
We use these to help promote curiosity and spark conversations, all whilst learning about Scotland! 💙

We’ve had a “braw” Burns Day celebration!
The children loved wearing tartan and exploring our Scottish themed centrepieces, baking delicious shortbread, and trying some Highland dancing 💃🕺
We also created Scottish flags, made Highland cow headbands and enjoyed lots of themed messy play.
A lovely day celebrating Scottish culture through play, creativity, and fun! 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿💙
