📚 September Words of the Month 📚

Each month, we share our Words of the Month to help develop communication skills across the school. Staff practise these signs every Monday morning, and they are then used throughout the week in classes. The accompanying video is also shared during Get Together.

We would love your support at home by practising these signs and symbols with your child.

Our Active Schools Perth & Kinross team has launched a new Fitness 4 All Circuit Class for young people with physical, learning or sensory disabilities.

The focus is on having fun, staying active and feeling comfortable and included. No experience needed, just come along and give it a try.

🌱🌎 Being Respectful to Our Environment at Fairview! 🌎🌱

This week, we have been showing respect for our environment by making great use of the compost we have created! ♻️🌿

Our classes have been placing their food scraps into our compost bin, which we can then use to help our plants grow in the polytunnel. 🌱🍅🥕 It’s a fantastic way to reduce waste and look after our environment.

Here is Room 9 doing a fantastic job helping to move the compost from the outside area into our polytunnel. 💪🌿

At Fairview, We Are Ambitious! 🌟

Room 7 have been practising their Boccia skills by rolling the ball down a ramp towards their target. When they hit the target, the sound beam connected to the benches made a sound, letting them know they had hit it!

For some pupils, the sensation of rolling the ball down the ramp also provided great sensory feedback, making the activity even more enjoyable and engaging.

Fantastic teamwork and great Boccia skills, Room 7! Well done! 👏

OOT! A Children's Comedy Theatre Festival at Perth Theatre, 8-11 October.



Get ready to giggle as HOOT!, Scotland’s first children’s comedy theatre festival, takes over Perth Theatre from Thursday 8 to Sunday 11 October 2026.

Presented by Dirliebane Theatre Company and Perth Theatre, HOOT! is a four-day celebration of silliness, imagination and shared fun for children aged 0–12 and their families. The festival brings together live comedy theatre, workshops, participatory activities, walkabout entertainment and free family activities throughout the theatre.

Audiences can enjoy performances in the Joan Knight Studio, interactive shows and workshops in The Space, and free entertainment in the foyer, including joke-sharing, dress-up fun and unexpected moments of mischief.

HOOT! offers families opportunities to experience live comedy theatre in a welcoming, playful and accessible environment.

Performances include;

Cabinet of Musical Wonders by The Tenement Jazz Band
Four Go Wild in Wellies by Indepen-dance
Toast with lots of butter by lovebug+worm

There are 9 performances in the Joan Knight Studio at Perth Theatre, 2 performances and 9 workshops in The Space, and free activities and walkabout theatre in the Foyer throughout. We are excited to have free activities, events in The Space are pay what you can £3/£5/£7 and tickets for the Joan Knight Studio are £11 (Or £6.50 if it's a group)
