Jollity Express A Licensed Makaton Tutor leads Jollity Express to sing and sign along with Makaton; group sessions. Naomi is a fully qualified and licensed Makaton Tutor.

She is passionate about sharing signs and symbols to provide alternative or additional ways to communicate. Sing and Sign Along using Makaton sessions are designed to use and learn Makaton in a fun and informal manner which is suitable for all ages and abilities. We have great fun in class and everyone is supportive of each other. Singing is uplifting (but not compulsory), learning signs to famili

ar songs can help to remember them and not only does signing provide an additional form of communication but it encourages movement and learning something new is always good for the brain! Jollity Express offers official Makaton Workshops Level 1-4 and taster sessions, these can be delivered online or in person. Dates for future workshops will be published for individuals to book but if organisations/groups would like to arrange private group Workshops these can be arranged. Makaton ‘in a nutshell’:
Makaton is a language programme that uses signs, symbols and speech. It supports the development of essential communication skills such as attention, listening, comprehension and memory recall. Signs & Symbols (accompanied with speech) can be helpful for someone who has limited speech or is pre-verbal, providing a way for them to express their thoughts, wants and needs. If a persons speech is unclear signs can be helpful to provide clues about what the person is saying.
