The Scottish International Flute Summer School www.flutescotland.com Who are we? We offer you the chance to study with some of the world’s leading flute players in a relaxed and supportive environment.

Founded by Ruth Morley and Peter Lloyd in 1996, The Scottish International Flute Summer School is a renowned flute course now in its 22nd year. What do we do? Our unique flute school has a bespoke element that allows you to design the perfect week for you and your flute playing. We provide you with inspiration and space to try out new ideas, and encourage you to take risks and to gain performance

experience. The international element will allow you to meet flute players from around the world, to share philosophies and learn from each other. Is it for me? Are you a music student at a conservatoire or university? Are you a flute teacher or a young professional player? Are you at school and considering study on a performance course
Are you an advanced amateur playing for pleasure and/or local groups? (Minimum recommended standard is grade 5 and above)
Then YES, we have a course for you and can provide a week of fluting that will inspire. Come for a week and enjoy the results for a lifetime!

A little late posting this, but Sunday evening’s recital from Ruth Morley was such a special way to open SIFSS 2026.

The whole programme was outstanding. It was a privilege to hear the world premiere of Ruth’s The Day is Done, written in memory of our dear friend Scott Mitchell. It was profoundly moving.

A special shoutout too to Stephanie Lamprea for stepping in at short notice and giving such an incredible performance.

Thank you, Ruth and Stephanie, for such a memorable evening. 🖤🎶
