๐โจ All About Me & My Senses! โจ๐
This week in our Baby Room, we are delighted to begin our new theme, All About Me and My Senses! ๐ถ๐ผ๐
Our curriculum is built around the belief that children learn best when they are given the time, space and freedom to explore, investigate and follow their own interests. This theme gives us a wonderful opportunity to put that vision into practice, supporting our babies to discover who they are, what makes them unique and how they connect with the world around them.
Over the coming weeks, we will be exploring our bodies and senses through playful, hands-on experiences, songs, stories, sensory exploration and meaningful interactions. ๐๐๐๐

Communication and Language remains our golden thread throughout everything we do. As the children explore mirrors, textures, sounds, smells, tastes and movement, our practitioners will be right there alongside them, modelling language, responding to their cues and giving them opportunities to communicate their choices, feelings, interests and discoveries in their own individual ways.
We will be encouraging our little ones to notice their eyes, ears, nose, mouth, hands and feet, while beginning to understand that we are all different and that every child is special and unique. ๐
Our learning will be supported through some lovely key texts including I Like Myself!, All About Me!, My Five Senses, We're Different, We're the Same, My Body and The Feelings Book. ๐
This theme also reflects our wider curriculum aims of nurturing children who are confident, curious, resilient and independent. Even the smallest moments โ choosing a resource, reaching towards something interesting, responding to a familiar song, exploring a new texture or communicating โmoreโ or โstopโ โ are important steps towards becoming confident little learners. ๐ฅฐ
We can't wait to see our babies investigate, wonder, explore and discover more about themselves and the world around them. Most importantly, we will continue to celebrate each child as an individual, following their interests and creating joyful learning experiences where every child can thrive. ๐
At home: Why not explore your child's senses together through everyday experiences? Look in the mirror and name body parts, listen for different sounds on a walk, explore interesting textures or share a favourite story. These simple moments are fantastic opportunities to talk, connect and learn together! ๐๐
