This is AMAZING 🤩 I’ve always been the biggest fan of Made By Dyslexia

They played a big part in helping me understand my own dyslexia 💚 Recognising, and celebrating, the strengths dyslexics have and not just focussing on the struggles. They have inspired me in the way I approach assessments and discussions around supporting children with dyslexia 🙌🏼

They are changing, and have changed, the dyslexic narrative for everyone 💚 🙏🏻

Just 2 months ago, Richard Branson, Kate Griggs & Made By Dyslexia launched the DyslexicU - the world's first University of Dyslexic Thinking 🎓

Since then, thousands of people all over the world have been learning about Dyslexic Thinking skills - now seen as the skills needed for every job in every sector, worldwide.

The DyslexicU is:
- Free to all, at any stage of life
- Online and on demand
- Hosted by the Open University

If you’re dyslexic, you’ll be able to watch the courses, and it’ll help you to realise how you think and why how you think is so valuable.

And if you’re not dyslexic, it will enable you to understand how dyslexic people think, the skills that the world needs, and how you too can develop them.

It’s the start of a new school year 🏫 and I hope it goes well for everyone 🤩

After their end of year reports or comments from school, or just your own suspicions, you might have been pondering the question, “Does my child have dyslexia?” 🤔 💭

This can be explored and discussed through the assessment process, and this is the only way dyslexia can be formally diagnosed. This is a service we provide at Invictus Dyslexia Services.

This assessment will tell you if your child is dyslexic or not. And either way, you will receive a detailed report outlining areas of strengths and weaknesses and a clearer idea of your child's cognitive profile and how best to support them.

Have you ever wondered if your child is dyslexic? 🤔 💭

The only way dyslexia can be formally diagnosed is through a diagnostic assessment. This is a service we provide at Invictus Dyslexia Services.

This assessment will tell you if your child is dyslexic or not. You will receive a detailed report outlining areas of strengths and weaknesses and a clearer idea of your child's cognitive profile and how best to support them.

The aim of the assessment is:

💭To highlight the young person’s individual style of learning or working and what does/doesn’t work for them
💭To collect information about reading, spelling and writing skills
💭To identify whether there is a clear discrepancy between general level of ability, and reading and writing attainment
💭To consider other factors which may be affecting learning
💭To identify whether any Reasonable Adjustments will need to be made in order for a young person to fully access the curriculum and exams

Practising spellings by writing them on the table 🙈

The focus was root words and adding suffixes ✍️ Approaching spellings in different multi-sensory ways improves engagement and interaction, and they are able to recall the spellings more successfully from their memory 🧠 ✅
