πŸ”΅ EVIDENCE SPOTLIGHT

Feedback | +6 months' progress

Effective feedback is one of the most powerful approaches available to teachers, with the potential to make a significant difference to pupil progress.

The EEF highlights that feedback is most effective when it helps pupils:
βœ”οΈ Understand what they have done well
βœ”οΈ Identify what needs improving
βœ”οΈ Know the next steps in their learning

The key isn't simply giving more feedbackβ€”it's ensuring feedback is timely, purposeful and acted upon.

🟑 IMPLEMENTATION INSIGHT

This week we're exploring Reflect – one of the three implementation behaviours identified in the EEF's A School's Guide to Implementation.

Successful implementation doesn't end once a new approach is introduced. Reflection is about using evidence, feedback and professional judgement to understand what's working, identify challenges and make thoughtful adaptations.

Building in opportunities to reflect helps ensure change is sustained and continues to improve over time.
