Many a ‘friends for life’ 🌊

We’re always blessed and fortunate to attract such awesome people at Smart Surf School.
Here’s one lovely family we’ve had the pleasure of getting to know and surfing with over the past week. It made me think that, after all these years, we’re so much more than just a surf school.
So many of our students return year after year. They come back, see us, catch some waves, have a laugh and simply enjoy being in the ocean together. It becomes a bit of a way of life, and somewhere along the line, customers become friends.
It’s been a brilliant summer sharing waves, smiles and good times with so many great people.
To everyone who’s come through our doors at Smart Surf School this summer, thank you.
We appreciate every single one of you. 🤙🌊

Magic session in the blazing heat on the shores of Sennen Cove ☀️🌊
The Smart Surf School crew taking on the little waves on their big boards, starting to develop their footwork, changing gears and getting some lovely long rides.
All ages, all abilities, just out there having a good time.
We don’t care if you’re standing up, rolling off, or finishing the session with sand and snot all over your face 😂 If you’re having fun, you’re doing it right.
Our priorities are simple: safety first, enjoyment second, progression third.
And who are we to say what “good surfing” really is anyway?
Sometimes it’s simply about shaking hands with Mother Nature’s most powerful force, riding a wave towards the shore and enjoying that connection with the ocean.

For thousands of years, the ancient Polynesians, the original surf lords, were said to perform ceremonial dances / surfboard sacrifices to awaken the surf gods and call in a fresh swell.

Here’s Sol practising those ancient movements in the hope of drumming up a few waves, because we haven’t seen much surf lately!

After that performance, though, we’re pretty sure there’s a decent swell on the way… 🌊🤙

Spider Ru is a good climber.
I can always tell when climbers come and learn to surf with us because I have pins in my knuckles from an operation during my Boxing Days. They’ve always got a really good strong grip and I can feel it. Climbing is an unreal workout for the kids (and adults)
