⭐️ What a happy, loving and fun filled last day of term ⭐️

Good luck to all our Preschoolers who are going off to big school for their next adventure.
We have watched you grow and develop into beautiful little humans and we couldn’t be more proud.

Good luck to Rosie, an adored member of staff in the baby room who is off on her own travels 🌍

And finally, thank you to all our families for a wonderful year, your support means a lot to us.

Have a lovely summer everyone ☀️

☀️ It’s been hotting up again ☀️

💦 Plenty of water play set up this week. A firm favourite with all our children.

⛱️ Sharon made a giant canopy in our garden using tarpaulin, the sides were all open. It created a perfect shady spot and we put a water tray underneath too.

🧊 We had ice play, reusing yoghurt pots and take away containers. We put fresh herbs from our garden into them. The smell was heavenly 🌱🌿

🖌️ Some babies experimented with making marks with paintbrushes dipping in water and watching it dry up because of the sun. Inspiring curios minds at such a young age.

🟡 The Tiddlers had a spur of the moment water fight. We have these reusable foam balls that soak up water well and are soft on impact. Perfect for the little ones. You can see the skills on their faces.

📕 The Preschoolers have been focusing on the story ‘The Lighthouse keeper’s lunch’ by Ronda and David Armitage.
If you haven’t read it, we recommend you do. It really is a great book.
The children then made their own lighthouses using recycled materials that a parent kindly collected and donated for them (Thank you Gemma 🥰)
Look how proud they are, showing off their creations.
Don’t they look amazing?

It’s been a really great week at nursery, with lots of smiles and laughter all round.
We loved days like these. 💛💙

Well, that was a wet and foggy week at nursery.

💦 The waterproofs came back out. We had water play every day, lots of funnels, guttering, bubble blowing, tubes and containers, filling and pouring.
Water play is definitely a firm favourite.

We also had trips to the field, keeping up with our teeth brushing, preparing our own snack, looking at books, peek a boo with the babies, experimenting with bubble painting and helping to sweep up after ourselves.

We encourage independence as much as we can from sweeping and chopping, to washing our dishes, dressing ourselves and sorting our rubbish into the recycling.

Another fantastic week at The Ark 💛

All the things we have got up to this week!

💦 Plenty of water play, across all groups, a big hit at nursery.

🎨 The Babies have been exploring painting with their feet

💭 The Preschoolers have been predicting whether different objects will float or sink

🪂 The Tiddlers enjoyed having the parachute out

📚 Story time all round. We love a good story and our reading corner is so inviting, there’s always a child in there, snuggled on a bean bag

🍴The older Babies have been practicing spreading butter on their toast

🛝 The Preschoolers have so much fun together, creating role play games and enjoy each others company

🧵🧱📦 And lots of ‘loose parts’ play. We provide various and random materials from cardboard tubes to cork coasters, polystyrene packaging and plastic cable reels. Giving our children the choice to build, construct and create models with as much freedom and space as they like.

We’ve had a busy week back after half term and these pictures say it all 😄

Thursday last week was the Preschoolers turn to go on an adventure.
They were super excited and explored their environment with a curious mind.

This also linked to their topic ‘Living Things’, discovering all kinds of wonderful things that grow and are alive all around us.

We like pic 8 where they’re all trying to help lift a fallen tree 🥰

Did you also see the outline of the ‘stick man’s’ body? 😮
What good spotters!

We hope you’re all enjoying your Half Term

On Wednesday the Tiddlers went on a walk to ‘The Gruffalo Woods’. They were gone for the whole morning.

🐦 They spotted a Bird house within the forest

🪵Did amazing balancing on some tree stumps, building up their gross motor skills

🐌 rescued a snail from a large puddle

🪲 found a big shiny beetle on the track

🍌 Had snack in the woods and when some banana peel fell on the floor, a child commented “na uh, that come back with us, not on floor”.

🌲 observed, touched and talked about the roots of a large tree that had fallen over

Aren’t these pictures so cute. We are very lucky to have this on our doorstep.
