Dear Families and, why not - our village residents too 😊
We don't shout enough about academic outcomes, if at all! We talk much more about relationships, wellbeing, belonging and helping children become confident, happy young people. But this year, just as last year we should pause and we should celebrate.
Our 🌟Ruby Reception children achieved an outstanding 83% Good Level of Development. Our 🌟Citrine Year 1 phonics results were 93%. Our 🌟Amethyst Year 4 pupils achieved exceptional Multiplication Tables Check outcomes, and an incredible 90% of our 🌟Sapphire Year 6 children achieved the expected standard in all of Reading, Writing and Maths combined, compared to 63% nationally!
Alongside this, our attendance sits at 95.9%, placing Gulval amongst the very highest-performing similar schools nationally, with exceptionally low levels of persistent absence.
It would be impossible to get everything right all of the time, that’s just not life, but these results do matter because they reflect something much bigger than data. They reflect a school where children feel they belong, where families and staff work together, and where every child is encouraged to believe in themselves. A school our village can be imensely proud of.
We don't chase data, we focus on children. And because we focus on children, the data follows. I couldn't be prouder of our children and families and yes, i know I am blessed with the most dedicated and skilled staff team.

We believe, we matter; we we can shine.
