Penryn College Cornwall

Penryn College Cornwall Penryn College caters for young people aged between 11 and 16. Penryn College originally opened in Falmouth in 1957, and was moved to its present site in 1961.

Penryn College a lively, thriving secondary school in Cornwall with a culture of high aspirations, and an inclusive community where every moment matters and every young person belongs, finds their voice, and is fully prepared for a future without limits. Since that time, there has been a programme of continuous improvements and updating of buildings and classrooms. Our biggest development, though,

was the opening of our £24 million College building in 2008. We have a great range of resources that help us meet the needs of students and the community, and strive to improve these each and every day.

Dear Parents/Carers,

We had a fantastic first day with our Year 7 and Year 11 students yesterday, and we look forward to welcoming all remaining year groups today.

As more students and families join us on site, we want to remind everyone of important arrangements for safe arrival in the morning and collection at the end of the day.

Parking
The safety of our young people is our top priority. We also ask that parents/carers consider local residents and businesses when parking near the college site.
Please note that Penryn Rugby Club car park is private and reserved for business users only. The club has requested that it is not used for student drop-off, collection, or parking.

The main college car park is reserved for taxis and for parents dropping off or collecting students in the ARB. Permits for this academic year can be collected from Monday.

Thank you for your cooperation in helping us keep everyone safe as we welcome the whole school community back.

We work hard to provide a programme of activities that we feel provide students with a chance to enrich their experience at school.

Students can access the list by clicking the 'Clubs & Activities’ icon on their iPad home screen. Parents and Carers may check the same link for the latest updates.

As always, there is a huge range of opportunities for all students - nearly 70 clubs per week - including our new favourite club name of all time - 'The Chronicles of Yarnia' (knitting club in the library!). Clubs are a great way for students to try something new, make friends and grow their skills.

Clubs will begin Monday 7th September (unless listed). The front gates will remain open for anyone collecting students after the clubs finish.

Thank you to all staff who have contributed to creating this fantastic enrichment offer and making it 'sparkle'.
