🌸We’ve discovered a new tour 🌺

What a magical week we have had exploring Cornwall’s beautiful spring gardens.

Each day included a combination of garden, walk, expert tour & pub supper.

We were blessed with the weather and the garden blooms were out of this world.

Our student group from Italy & Sweden were so knowledgeable about plants and it was a pleasure to learn so much from them.

This was our itinerary:

- Monday: Lanhydrock - walking up to the gardens from the train station just like the family would’ve done in the old days. Time to explore the gardens & house followed by a walk down to Lostwithiel for dinner at The Globe.

- Tuesday: Trelissick - guided tour from assistant head gardener Walla followed by cream tea in the house and a river cruise to Malpas. Bit of time to explore Truro before supper in the Thomas Daniell.

- Wednesday: Tim Smit day - Eden & Heligan looking glorious. Lovely chats with the gardeners and then following the old footpath down to Mevagissey for a fish supper at The Fountain.

- Thursday: Up the Helford - starting at Mawnan church & following the estuary up to Durgan and then up through Glendurgan. Lunch at Trebah and down to the beach. Hiding from showers under the giant Gunnera. Delicious supper at the Ferryboat Inn.

- Friday: St Michael’s Mount - such a different garden with succulents clinging to the cliff edge. Up to the castle for views across the bay. Then over to Mousehole for a final supper at The Ship Inn.

Thank you so much to everyone who welcomed us this week 🙏

It’s Friday night! And we’re off to do something super special 🎉

At the very end of the south-western tip of the British Isles, with nothing between us but 4000 miles of ocean all the way to North America.

There is a magical theatre carved into the cliff 🤩

Watching a show at The Minack is like nothing else on earth 🌎

Let’s stay up late, walk the coast path, have a picnic on the beach and watch a theatre show under the stars. ✨

Wednesday! Let’s go back in time and explore Cornwall’s mining history and heritage

We’re gonna take you deep into the heart of Cornwall’s UNESCO World Heritage site at

- A walk along the coast path
- A Cornish pasty
- A chat with a miner
- A chance to go in an ancient mine
- And even panning for gold

Feel hundreds of years of history all around you.

I know it’s Monday, but let’s imagine it’s Monday the something of July… or maybe August 🌞

We’re off to St Michael’s Mount 🏰

Home to the legend of Cormoran the Giant and an 11th century monastery.

Twice a day the tide comes in and out of the bay.

But somehow we’ll find our way across to the island either on foot or by boat.

As we wander up the hill, we’ll look for the giant’s heart.

And soak up stories from the wonderful National Trust volunteers.

Perhaps an ice-cream in the gardens, a picnic on the lawn and even some time on the beach to just watch the world go by.
