WHAT IS COLOUR? When you un-mix browns and greys, it was originally made of colour. Grey and brown can be a confusing time, a mix of everything. But like colours, lives can change. A life can transition from a place of fear or helplessness into hope because God is colour - He wants to help us. Whatever colour situation anyone faces, we believe God’s grace is near and he has a coloured grace for each of us to discover and live in. Whatever the situation, it can take a new colourful perspective with the support of others in community. We are a community interest company based in the Highway Community Centre, home of Highway Church. Our motivation is based upon Jesus’ teaching of grace, love, forgiveness, inclusion, and living life to the full.

ColourRiot left Cornwall for the first time on some new adventures!

Working alongside RISE Theatre in the beautiful grounds of Buckfast Leigh Abbey for a 2 day youth conference, we explored through theatre, music and art what our unique voice looks like- the passions and our dreams. We've all been given them and they're waiting to be released to make a difference in the world- no matter how small or great. You just need to make a start.

Learning that something powerful happens when the different creative arts come together!

We're continuing with creating our beautiful artworks you can take home to enjoy- taking all we've experimented with in our freedom in mark making series. This Friday 10:30-12:30 at the Highway Community Centre.

We'll encourage you to build your artworks up in layers over a couple of weeks.

It'll be self-directed with gentle guidance from the team. You'll be able to use your own handmade brushes, your feet or long sticks, your response to music, squidgees, charcoal, collage...

We're heading to Kennall Vale Woods in Ponsanooth this Friday to create our own natural brushes and paint outside with them- apart of our freedom in markmaking series!

There are many varieties of ferns and mosses flourishing on the woodland floor with waterways, bridges and ruins to explore and be inspired by!

We'll meet you outside the entrance at 11am and aim to finish for 12-12:30pm. If the weathers not on our side we'll take our activity to Highway Community Centre.

Look forward to seeing you there!

We're exploring freedom in mark making in as many ways as we possible whilst venturing outside as much as we can.

If it's a wet and rainy Friday...we'll be looking at making various drawing machines and taking away a little of the human element and see what type of marks we can create. (Highway Community Centre)

If it's bright and sunny, we'll be heading to Kennall Vale Woods in Ponsanooth to make our own natural tools and make some beautiful drawings with them.

We'll update the page by 9:30am on Friday to confirm our location :)
