Self defence and martial arts training, while related, have different primary focuses. Self-defense emphasises practical techniques for immediate survival in the real world, often used in unpredictable situations. Martial arts, on the other hand, often involves structured training, physical and mental discipline as well as rules and regulations that need to be followed.
