It continues to be all go in the education team. Today Laura and Pete are doing their thing at the national Growing Faith Foundation research conference in Birmingham. Thanks to North Westmorland Benefice (who are also there) for the photo 👍

Felt a bit sad taking down our “summer holidays” profile pic - I’m sure we only uploaded it 5 minutes ago! 🤔🤣 Where did those 6 weeks go? 🤷🏽‍♀️ We hope you’ve had a brilliant summer and that term starts well for you all 💕

It’s a wrap! Morland Choristers' Camp 2026 is all done. The final service had it all… the music (obvs) choir and organist, the laughter, the young people (including camp choristers of the future) joy, fellowship and fun. Mother Carrie referred to the “dogs theme” of this year’s camp in her sermon and it was a joy to have some actual real life dogs joining us for worship. We also took the chance to give thanks for all our dearly departed brother, David Jones, has given to camp and the wider life of Morland Church and North Westmorland Benefice. We do so miss David but, as his family said, today was about joy and thanks… not sadness. Massive thanks to all involved in making this year’s camp so amazing 💕🎶💕

It was another very special Choral Eucharist with Morland Choristers' Camp in Morland Church in North Westmorland Benefice this morning. In his sermon, the vicar 😉 reminded us that small isn’t too little - placed in God’s hands small is more than enough 🥖🥖🥖🥖🥖🐟🐟 It was such a treat to see young people leading. In particular, camp does such a fantastic job at training young leaders to support and nurture their younger peers. It’s evident in how many senior staff members are former campers. It was also evident this morning watching this year’s superstar crucifer guiding her younger acolyte colleagues. A very special week for young people in Diocese of Carlisle 💕🎶💕Thank you for allowing Charlotte Tudway to be part of the joy.

The Morland Choristers' Camp blew us away yet again at this evening’s Evensong service at Carlisle Cathedral. The musicianship was exceptional. Hard to believe that this group of people have only been singing together for 5 days 💕🎶💕

As a Morland resident, in North Westmorland Benefice, Charlotte has the privilege of seeing the Morland Choristers' Camp play out under her nose each summer. This afternoon, at the opening service, these young people are just a group drawn together by their love of music and singing. By this time next week, they’ll be a community, some will have made life long friendships. A powerful reminder of how music can bring people closer together and to faith 💕❤️💕

If you’ve ever attended spirituality or collective worship training led by Charlotte Tudway, you’ll know that one, in a long list, of the things that makes her go “wow!” is watching Jools Holland play the piano. Tonight, she was lucky enough to have a front row seat to watch him perform live in Carlisle and “wow” doesn’t even begin to describe how amazing the show was. Jools, the wonderful orchestra and every single one of the phenomenally talented guest singers were all gobstoppingly brilliant. Charlotte’s enthusiastic clapping and dancing was rewarded by a beaming smile from the man himself! Why are we posting this on the DBE account? Because Charlotte nearly didn’t go. She’s never been to a live event on her own before and was a bit anxious but got over herself, had a brilliant time and made a memory that will stick with her forever. We ask our young people in our schools to do this every day. It’s important that we never ask them to do things we wouldn’t do ourselves and to quote Cass Elliott 🎶 “Don’t let the good life pass you by”.

Charlotte Tudway and Laura Watson could not have been more proud of these amazing young people who wrote and led the intercessions at the Welcome Service for the Bishop of Penrith Michael Leyden at Carlisle Cathedral this afternoon 💕
