Crosby Ravensworth C.E Primary School A love of learning for life in all its fullness. Courage, Compassion, Community. Being small is wonderful! Delicious hot meals are cooked on site every day.

It allows us to thrive in a family atmosphere and tailor our provision to meet the needs of each and every one of our pupils. We're fully committed to nurturing each child as they develop their unique talents amidst our stunning rural backdrop. In the last two years, our leavers have exceded national attainment standards in all SATS tests. We have two classes of mixed age pupils with a separate pre-school nursery attached. Wrap around care is now in place, with breakfast and after school clubs running daily to support working families while providing wider opportunities for children to learn and play together. Since extending in 2011, the school has moved with the times to ensure all children have regular access to ipads and laptops to support their learning. We are proud of our past, but ambitious about our future. To find out more, please arrange a visit and we'd be delighted to show you around. Duncan Priestley

Rheged have shared details of their first Lakes Deer Fest – a new autumn festival celebrating the Red and Roe deer that have shaped the landscapes of Cumbria for centuries....

Enjoy live cookery and butchery demonstrations, free wild venison burgers, and enjoy a full day of talks, films, exhibitions and creative activities across the venue, inspired by the wildlife, culture and landscapes of the Lake District.
Discover the stories of deer in Cumbria through art, folklore, photography and film, and meet the people working to restore habitats, create woodlands and care for the landscapes and iconic wildlife we all enjoy today.
Whether you’re interested in local food, wildlife, creativity or simply looking for a memorable family day out, Lakes Deer Fest offers a warm and welcoming autumn experience.
On the day, we'll be hosting a number of talks and performances in Screen 2. These sessions are free, but we recommend booking in advance via the Rheged website.

Reading over scrolling?

It's all too easy to reach for the phone. But our children copy what they see us do, so 2026, the National Year of Reading, is the right time to pick up a book again.

If the habit has slipped, here's a gentle nudge: a short video with six classics you could finish in a week. 👇

And a reminder to all our parents: please try to hear your primary-aged children read each night. Even ten minutes makes an enormous difference, and it's a lovely thing to share.

Happy reading!
