Last night we celebrated our wonderful Year 6s! This year they chose to celebrate with homemade pizzas and a pirate themed escape room! Lots of fun and laughs to finish the year! 🍕🏴‍☠️⚔️

⚽️🏀What a fantastic day yesterday for our annual Skelton 7s tournament! 🏀⚽

We were delighted to welcome so many schools for a day of excellent netball, teamwork and friendship.

After a brilliant first round of matches in the morning, Langwathby finished in 1st place, with Lazonby as worthy runners-up. In the afternoon, Skelton worked hard to secure 1st place, with Calthwaite finishing as runners-up following another exciting round of fixtures. The overall final between Langwathby and Skelton was a closely fought contest between two high-quality teams, with Langwathby just edging the win. Both teams showed excellent skill, determination and sportsmanship and were fantastic representatives of their schools! A huge well done to all the players and to Langwathby as the overall winners! 🥇🏆

A special thank you must go to our wonderful Year 5/6 helpers, who went above and beyond to make our visitors feel so welcome and looked after. Your kindness, enthusiasm and hard work helped make the day such a success.

Thank you also to Plumpton School for hosting the football tournament. Our football team enjoyed a great morning, faced some tough competition and represented the school brilliantly! Well done to Ivegill as the overall winners of the football! 🥇🏆

A huge well done to everyone who took part, supported the event - including each class who came out to cheer us on - and helped make another memorable Skelton 7s. We can't wait to do it all again next year!

What a wonderful time we had at our After School Club Mini Olympics last Thursday! 🎉🏃‍♀️🏃‍♂️

There were lots of smiles, laughter, and enthusiasm as everyone joined in and gave the different challenges a go.

It was fantastic to see the children encouraging one another, having fun, and making happy memories together.🌟

What a fantastic time we had at last night’s after-school club! 🎉 We baked some delicious biscuits and cake, then got creative decorating them with lots of colourful toppings and designs. 🍪🧁 The children had so much fun showing off their creativity, and the tasty treats were a big hit! 😋✨

On Monday, some of our Year 5/6s enjoyed an afternoon of rounders at the Penruddock rounders competition. They all worked brilliantly as a team showing excellent sportsmanship and encouragement with some fantastic batting and fielding throughout the afternoon too. Huge thank you to Penruddock School for hosting us and Keswick School for coordinating and umpiring the tournament! 🎾🏏

🏃🏃‍♀️On Friday, some of our KS2 pupils enjoyed a trip to Patterdale for the annual cross country competition. They all gave it their all on a challenging course with some tough competition - a fantastic effort all round with Skelton placing 4th overall including 2 medal winning positions! Well done everyone and a huge thank you to Patterdale School for a brilliantly organised event. 🏃🏃‍♀️

Nursery and Reception enjoyed their ‘Under the Sea’ themed Forest School session yesterday. They toasted on the campfire, made clay animals, created an underwater scene using material and paint, made fishing roads using peelers and sticks AND much more! 🐟🐠🐳🐙🪸🪼🦈🦀🦞

Year 5/6 have recently completed an exciting Design and Technology project creating their own wooden marble mazes. They carefully planned their designs, accurately measured the wood and safely used saws to cut the pieces to size. After sanding the edges to create a smooth finish, they glued the wooden sections onto their designs to build the maze pathways. We think the finished mazes look fantastic and everyone was very proud of their creations and seeing them in action! 🪚🪚
