We are celebrating another year of exceptional A Level success, with 15% of all grades awarded at A* and more than a third of grades achieved at A* or A.
Standout student performances include Lucy Reay, who achieved 3A* and an A and will take up a place at University of Cambridge to read Economics. Patience Pickard achieved 3 A grades and will take up a place to read English at Oxford. Ryan Moukarram achieved 3 A*s and an A and will take up a place to study Medicine at Imperial College London. Anna Thompson achieved 2 As and a B and is taking up a place at Stirling University to study Sport Psychology
Students are now progressing to a wide range of prestigious destinations, including six securing places at Oxford or Cambridge and a further 58 receiving offers from Russell Group universities such as Durham, Bristol, Manchester, Liverpool, Newcastle and University College London. Four students have secured places to study Medicine.
Headteacher David Marchant said: "These results represent years of dedication, resilience and hard work from our students, supported every step of the way by their families and teachers. We are incredibly proud of all they have achieved. Whether progressing to university, apprenticeships or employment, they leave QEGS with the knowledge, skills and confidence to succeed in the next stage of their journey. Once again, these results place Queen Elizabeth Grammar School among the highest-performing state schools in the North of England."
