Our Year 7 students have been working super hard to learn the different positions on a netball court, and they have produced some absolutely fantastic pieces of homework to showcase their knowledge! A massive congratulations to our 6th form students who represented the Penrith Barbarians in an outstanding 55–0 victory away against a tough Sedbergh Development Squad!

Try Scorers: Theo Winstanley (2), Max Slessor (2), Harry Bibby (2), Oliver Nicholson, and others.
It was an unstoppable, high-tempo performance from start to finish, built on a physical, dominant defense and brilliant counter-attacking play. A huge shoutout to all our UCC lads involved alongside the QEGS players for a fantastic combined effort and exemplary teamwork.

Celebrating Black History Month 🖤

We’re marking Black History Month across our school community with a range of activities and celebrations.

Each morning, we’re holding launch assemblies on the theme of ‘Honouring Our Communities’. In lessons, we have lots of exciting opportunities for students to learn, including African and Caribbean food tasting and, in Science, exploring the work and achievements of Black scientists. Our Library is showcasing books by Black authors, while Art Club is responding creatively to the work of artist Alma Thomas.

A fantastic opportunity for our students to learn, celebrate and be inspired throughout Black History Month.

Help Change a Child's Future Through Fostering

Cumbria Fostering has launched its latest recruitment campaign to encourage more people across the county to consider fostering and help provide safe, stable and loving homes for local children.

Cumbria Fostering is looking for carers from all walks of life and offers comprehensive training, ongoing professional support, support groups, wellbeing services and networks such as the Mockingbird programme, ensuring carers never feel alone on their fostering journey.
