🌊🌍 GROUNDING • EARTH • OCEAN • BODY 🌍🌊

Why does standing barefoot on the beach feel so different?

It all comes down to the connection between Earth, body, sand and seawater.

The Earth has a natural electrical charge, and direct skin-to-ground contact is known as earthing or grounding. Beach sand combined with conductive seawater creates an especially direct environment for this connection. With Earth’s frequency amplified and acting as a super charger for your cells!

From a spiritual perspective, this is more than simply standing on the ground - it is reconnecting with the Earth’s natural energy and rhythm, grounding ourselves and restoring a sense of balance between body, mind and environment. 🌍✨

Scientifically, our feet contain thousands of sensory receptors. Walking barefoot across shifting sand provides continuous sensory feedback, challenging the muscles of the feet and ankles and supporting balance, proprioception and neuromuscular control.

The ocean adds another layer. The rhythmic sound of waves, natural light, fresh air and immersion in nature can encourage the nervous system towards a calmer parasympathetic state, supporting relaxation and stress regulation.

Research into earthing is also exploring potential effects on sleep, inflammation and autonomic nervous-system function.

Nature really is the ultimate biohack!🌿

Not because we need to escape our bodies, but because sometimes the simplest way to reconnect with ourselves is to reconnect with the Earth beneath our feet.

Take off your shoes.
Feel the sand.
Let the water meet your skin.
Breathe deeply.
Ground. Reconnect. Restore. 🌊✨

🍅🌿 Tomatoes… From garden to plate… Nature’s little powerhouses! 🌿🍅

It’s very satisfying growing your own food - especially when it looks this good! ❤️💛 I’ve got three varieties of tomatoes growing on the vine: Juicy plum, sweet red cherry and vibrant yellow cherry tomatoes. They’re forming a beautiful crop and are almost ready to pick! 🍅✨

Tomatoes may be small, however they’re packed with goodness. They’re naturally low in calories and provide vitamin C, potassium, folate and vitamin K, along with antioxidants including lycopene, beta-carotene and vitamin E. Lycopene is particularly interesting - it’s a powerful antioxidant associated with helping protect cells from oxidative stress and supporting heart and overall health. ❤️

And there’s a bonus when you grow them organically 🌱. Growing without synthetic pesticides and fertilisers can reduce your exposure to certain agricultural chemicals, while nurturing healthy soil supports biodiversity, pollinators and a healthier garden ecosystem. 🐝🌿

Plus, home-grown tomatoes can be picked at peak ripeness, meaning maximum freshness, unrivalled flavour and that gorgeous juicy texture. 😋

From seed → soil → sunshine → vine → plate… It’s incredibly rewarding knowing exactly where your food has come from. 🌱🍅☀️

Grow your own. Eat the rainbow. Nourish your body and your connection with nature. 💚

🌑✨ New Moon • Movement • Sound • Journaling • Nature ✨🌑

Last night I stepped into the beautiful Chiltern countryside for a New Moon Movement & Sound Bath - and what a magical evening it was! 🌿🌅

A gentle walk through the countryside led me to a beautiful meadow overlooking the rolling Chiltern Hills. I was greeted by friendly alpacas along the way 🦙🤍, before settling into nature with the warmth of the setting sun, a gentle breeze and beautiful views.

It was incredibly grounding - moving slowly, releasing tension, breathing deeply and simply being present.

🌑 The New Moon marks the beginning of a new lunar cycle. Astronomically, it occurs when the Moon is positioned between the Earth and Sun, with its illuminated side facing away from us. Interestingly, solar eclipses can only occur during a New Moon because the Sun, Moon and Earth are aligned.

And this particular New Moon carries an extra sense of significance because it coincides with today’s solar eclipse. Scientifically, it’s a beautiful demonstration of celestial alignment. 🌞🌑🌍

Spiritually, the New Moon is a time for reflection, intention and new beginnings - a symbolic opportunity to pause, look inward and consider what we want to carry forward, what we are ready to release and make space for what comes next.

For me, the combination of movement, sound, nature, sunset and stillness created the perfect space to do exactly that.

The evening unfolded beautifully, beginning with gentle movement and slow flow to release tension and reconnect with the body. 🌿 We then had time to journal, reflect on what we were ready to release and set intentions for the cycle ahead. Finally, we settled into a peaceful sound bath beneath the evening sky, allowing the soothing tones and vibrations of the singing bowls to quieten the mind and leave us feeling grounded, calm and restored. ✨🌑

Sometimes we don’t need to do more…

We simply need to slow down enough to hear ourselves. 🤍

Thank you Hanae Harmony Sound Practioner | Hanae and Women’s Empowerment Coach Ren Rene Reed | Tribe Collective for creating such a special evening. 🌙✨

☀️ Summer Sunset Sound Bath 🧘‍♀️

Nature has a remarkable way of helping us slow down. 🌿✨

Yesterday evening, I finished my active day with an outdoor summer sunset sound bath, surrounded by towering trees, warm golden sunshine, flowing water and the gentle sounds of a nearby waterfall. The combination can be powerful for both the body and mind.

Sound baths use the soothing vibrations of instruments such as gongs, singing bowls and chimes to encourage deep relaxation. As the nervous system begins to settle, many people experience reduced stress, calmer breathing, improved mental clarity and a greater sense of emotional wellbeing. The vibrations can help guide the brain towards slower brainwave states associated with rest, meditation and recovery.

Being immersed in nature adds another layer of wellbeing. Research has shown that spending time amongst greenery can help lower stress hormones, improve mood and support cardiovascular health. The sound of running water provides a natural form of “soft fascination”, gently holding our attention and allowing the mind to rest, while the negative ions often found around waterfalls may also contribute to feelings of freshness and wellbeing. Combined with the warmth of the evening sunshine and fresh air, it created the perfect environment to unwind, reset and simply be present.

A heartfelt thank you to for creating such a peaceful, welcoming and restorative experience. It was the perfect way to end a beautiful summer’s day. 💚

🧘‍♀️ Floatation Gong Sound Bath 🧘‍♀️

There was something incredibly calming about combining two things I naturally feel an affinity to - the deep vibrations of gongs and the peaceful, weightless feeling of being surrounded by water. 🌊✨

The vibrations, sound, stillness, gentle movement of the water and the immersive atmosphere, created such a meditative experience, especially at sunset. A chance to slow down, switch off, and reconnect with myself in a different way.

A huge thank you to Sound Practioner | Hanae for creating such a beautiful and restorative experience. 💚

Looking after your wellbeing doesn’t always have to mean doing more - sometimes it’s about creating space to pause, breathe and allow yourself time to recharge. ✨

BHF Bournemouth Pier to Pier Swim 🏊‍♀️

A beautiful morning spent doing something I love - swimming in the sea! 🌊

I completed the Bournemouth Pier to Boscombe Pier swim, a 1.4 mile open water challenge, raising funds for the British Heart Foundation. ❤️

The conditions couldn’t have been better - sunshine, calm water and a perfectly organised event, surrounded by lots of lovely people. After the recent heatwave, cooling off in the sea felt absolutely blissful, and I genuinely enjoyed every stroke.

I swam well, soaked up the atmosphere, and finished the day with the very important recovery fuel… Fish and chips on the beach from Harry Ramsdens! 🍟🐟

Grateful for days like this - moving my body, challenging myself, enjoying the outdoors, and supporting a great cause along the way. ❤️

🐝🌸 A garden isn’t just a place to grow pretty flowers… It can be a lifeline. 🌿

When I choose plants for my garden, I’m not just thinking about colour and beauty - I’m thinking about the tiny pollinators that keep our ecosystems alive. I try to grow a variety of flowers that support different species of bees, because not all bees are attracted to the same plants. Some need specific flower shapes, colours and seasons of food availability to survive.

Bees are responsible for pollinating many of the foods we rely on every day - including fruits, vegetables, nuts and seeds. Yet bee populations are declining due to habitat loss, pesticides, climate change and the way humans have changed the natural world. Without healthy pollinator populations, the impact reaches far beyond bees… It affects biodiversity, our crops, food security and the balance of life we depend on. 🌎

An interesting fact: The UK has over 250 species of bee - and most of them are solitary bees, not honeybees. They don’t live in hives, make honey or have a queen, but they still play a vital role in pollination. 🐝

With the warmer weather, I’ve also been leaving out a shallow dish of water for bees and other garden visitors. Just like us, they need hydration - however make sure to add stones, pebbles or twigs so they have somewhere safe to land and don’t risk drowning. 💧

Caring for nature is part of caring for ourselves. The same systems that support the health of our planet support our own wellbeing too - clean air, nutritious food, movement outdoors and connection with the natural world. 🌱

A simple way to help: Levee a small area of your garden a little wild. Dandelions, clover and native wildflowers are valuable food sources for bees, especially early in the year when they need it most.

Small choices create big ripples. 🌸🐝

🏃‍♀️🏅 The Penn & Tylers Green Trifecta! 🏅🏃‍♀️

What a fantastic day at our local village running event! This year I took on all three races - the Penn 7 (7 miles), Super Fun Run (5k), and Ruby Dash (2k) - which felt a bit like completing the Penn & Tylers Green Trifecta! 🌧️💪

The rain absolutely poured down all afternoon, but it certainly didn’t dampen the atmosphere. From the youngest runners to the most experienced, everyone gave it their all, supported by an incredible community that came together to organise, volunteer, cheer and take part. The live music afterwards made it even more special and reminded me why village events like this are so important.

My proudest moments weren’t my own races, though. They were running alongside my boys, Phoenix and Orion, and my niece Emily. Phoenix and Emily completed both the Fun Run and then the Ruby Dash with the Scouts, setting fantastic PB’s and running the Fun Run an incredible 6 minutes faster than they managed in training! Orion smashed his Ruby Dash time too, finishing a whole minute faster than last year. The Scouts also took 1st place in the fancy dress competition, which was the perfect bonus! 🎉

As parents and adults, we often tell children to be brave, challenge themselves and keep going when things get tough. One of the most powerful ways we can teach those lessons is by living them ourselves. Whether we run, walk, volunteer or simply show up, our actions demonstrate what perseverance, commitment and community look like.

Watching these three young runners push themselves, grow in confidence and celebrate their achievements reminded me that success isn’t about being the fastest. It’s about having the courage to start, the determination to continue and the belief that you’re capable of more than you think.

A day of muddy trainers, soaking wet clothes, family memories and community spirit - and I wouldn’t have changed a thing. ❤️🏃‍♀️🏃‍♂️🏅

🌲 Nature, Movement & Woodland Trails! 🚴‍♀️

Two wheels, fresh air and woodland trails… 🌿🚴‍♀️ Moving your body through nature is incredibly grounding. Cycling is fantastic for cardiovascular health, joint mobility, lymphatic flow and stress reduction, while exercising in woodland has been shown to lower cortisol, calm the nervous system and improve mood through exposure to phytoncides released by trees. 🌲✨

On hot days, the woodland canopy creates a naturally cooler environment too, making movement feel far more manageable and enjoyable than training in direct sun. Between the birdsong, filtered light and earthy scent of the forest floor, it becomes more than exercise… It feels like therapy for both body and mind. 🧘‍♀️

Nature was never meant to be something we only look at… We’re designed to move within it. 💚

☀️ Soaking up the Sunshine! ☀️

Sunshine is far more than just “good weather” - it’s biological information for the body. 🧘‍♀️

Sunlight helps regulate circadian rhythms, optimise cortisol and melatonin timing, support Vitamin D synthesis, improve circulation through nitric oxide release and even influence mitochondrial ATP production - the body’s cellular energy system. This is why natural light exposure can positively affect energy, recovery, mood, sleep quality and physical performance. ⚡

Interestingly, ancient Eastern practices understood this long before modern science did. In Traditional Chinese Medicine, sunlight, breath and connection to nature strengthen Chi - life force energy. And whether viewed scientifically or spiritually, the outcome is often the same:
✨ calmer nervous system
✨ clearer thinking
✨ improved vitality
✨ deeper presence

With this beautiful warm weather right now, it’s the perfect time to train outdoors, ground barefoot in the grass, walk more, breathe deeply and reconnect with natural rhythms the body was designed for. ☀️🌳

The body doesn’t just need food and exercise… It needs light, nature, rhythm and energy too.
