This morning, our tiny thinkers created their very own pumpkin patches! 😊🎃This fun, hands-on activity supports the development of fine motor skills, hand-eye coordination and concentration, while encouraging sensory exploration and creativity. Our 1-year-olds loved dipping, dabbing and watching their pumpkins come to life! 🥰🍂

🎨Today our Tiny Thinkers ended their day by practising their fine manipulative skills through colouring!🖍️

Although it may look like simple fun, colouring offers so many wonderful learning opportunities for our little ones ages 1-2 years!🥰

✨THE BENEFITS OF COLOURING:

🖐️ Fine Motor Development - Holding crayons, making marks and moving them across the paper helps strengthen little hands and fingers, building the foundations for future skills such as writing.

🌈 Exploring Colours - Colouring introduces our Tiny Thinkers to different colours, helping them begin to notice, recognise and eventually name the colours they see around them.

👀 Sensory Exploration - Our little learners explore the feel of pencils, the texture of paper, the different colours they see and movements they make! This encourages curiosity and supports their sensory development.

🧠 Concentration & Creativity - Even a few minutes of colouring encourages our Tiny Thinkers to focus, explore freely and express themselves in their own unique way.

💪🏽 Building Independence & Control - As our little ones learn to grip their pencils and make their own marks, they begin to develop hand-eye coordination, control over their movements and sense of independence.

🌿📚 Little legs, big energy and busy explorers!🌺🌙

This little group, enjoyed a lovely period of outdoor play, bursting their energy, exploring their surroundings, taking risks and developing new skills in the fresh air!💨

Once their outdoor adventures came to an end, the children independently recognised that they needed some quiet time to relax and recharge🔋. They chose their own books and settled down peacefully indoors, enjoying a calm moment in their own space.💛

It was beautiful to see the children recognise their own needs, listening to their bodies and making independent choices to support their wellbeing.🥰 From active outdoor adventures to peaceful moments with a book, the children showed us just how important it is to find a balance between being busy and taking time to rest.

What if we flipped it? What if we started interpreting messy play for what it actually is?
Messy play more often than not means our children are learning; that they’re participating, experimenting and getting involved!

We have lots of messy play at nursery, so make sure you’re sending your little ones with a spare change of clothes, wellies and a big smile so they can dig into the messiness!

Sure it’s a little messy, but there’s so much learning going on.

So it turns out the girlies love an early morning wake up?! 🤪🫠😭

Do fear that an early riser would thrive working in our packaway setting! Nothing more satisfying than an early alarm, fresh coffee and straight into setting up your day ⭐️

We love this for them. Get those early mornings girls 🤌🏼

🍊Little hands, big learning🍊

Giving children the opportunity to cut fruit isn’t just about preparing a snack. It’s a chance to build confidence, independence and practice life skills. 🩷

With the right tools and supervision, children can practice:
🍎Fine motor skills
🍌Concentration and focus
🍇Independence and confidence
🍐Learning about healthy foods
🍑Following instructions and making choices

There’s something so empowering about saying, “I can do it myself” 💥

🦊🐻🍂 Our story of the month: A Little Bit Worried🍂🐻🦊

This month, we’re sharing this beautiful, gentle story that explores the feelings of worry, uncertainty and reassurance, helping little ones understand that it’s perfectly okay to feel a little bit worried when something is new or unfamiliar. 🤎

It feels like such an appropriate story for this month, especially as we’ve recently welcomed lots of new lovely little faces. For some of our children, this may be the very first time they’ve spent away from their parents / carers, and that can bring a whole lot of different emotions - excitement, curiosity, happiness, uncertainty, and, of course, sometimes a few little worries!🥹

Through stories, cuddles, conversations, developing knowledge on interests, and lots of reassurance, we’re helping our little ones understand and express these feelings in a safe and supportive environment. We want our children and their grown ups to know that these emotions are completely normal and that, with time, confidence and lots of familiar faces, those initial worries can begin to fade. 💪🏽

Each day brings something new to explore, and it’s wonderful watching those little moments of confidence grow!🌈

Here’s to a new season, new friendships, new adventures, and lots of happy memories being made. 📚
