After a very long and exciting weekend, we started our circle time by catching up with one another and sharing what we had been up to over the bank holiday. We then talked about the exciting changes coming our way, including getting ready to join โ€œbig schoolโ€ or moving into new classes with different teachers and friends. We discussed how these changes made us feel. Everyone was very excited, but we also shared some of the worries and questions we might have. Together, we talked about ways we could overcome these worries and explored different strategies to help us manage our emotions and feel more confident. Throughout the day, we took part in a variety of activities designed to help us calm our bodies and regulate our emotions. We practised different breathing techniques, including standing still and breathing out our โ€œbutterfliesโ€ and taking part in some relaxing yoga breathing ๐Ÿง˜โ€โ™‚๏ธ. During the morning, we made our own little name signs in preparation for school. We practised saying and spelling our names aloud while developing our pencil control and practising our letter formation. After enjoying lots of delicious fruit salad and milk, we headed up to the top garden to collect some Forest School treasures, including twigs, leaves and feathers. We then used these natural resources to practise forming the letters in our names and creating different shapes. After refuelling with some delicious โ€œPasta La Vistaโ€ ๐Ÿ, we enjoyed a variety of activities, including jigsaws, farm play and colouring. We also developed our mathematical skills while playing both familiar and new board games ๐ŸŽฒ, taking turns, counting and problem-solving together. After our afternoon fruit and milk, we headed back up to the top garden to continue practising our writing and developing our self-awareness. We completed an โ€œAll About Meโ€ sheet, where we practised writing using smaller letters and sharing things about ourselves. We finished our day with lots of fun and movement, playing our Rainbow Jump game using the tyres. We also enjoyed watching lots of beautiful butterflies dancing around our garden. ๐Ÿฆ‹
