The children had a wonderful time during our visit to Scolton Manor last week. They enjoyed playing together and building new friendships with peers from both rooms. Throughout the day, they explored the park, shared snacks, and relaxed with a lovely outdoor picnic.

The highlight of the trip was their exciting adventure in the pirate area, where imaginations ran wild and teamwork flourished. Afterwards, we took a peaceful stroll through the woods, played on the grass, and enjoyed a variety of group games before heading over to the musical area to experiment with sounds and rhythms.
We finished our day with a calm drive back to the nursery, with lots of happy chatter about their favourite moments. Well done, everyone — what a fantastic day of exploration and fun!

Today, the children in our ABC 2‑year‑old room explored the role of Italian chefs as part of our topic Jobs Around the World. They worked together to make a pizza, beginning by preparing the dough, mashing tinned tomatoes, and spreading the sauce onto the base. Using child‑safe knives, they practised coordination and control while cutting a variety of toppings. Each child took turns adding their chosen ingredients, showing excellent sharing, cooperation, and patience. The activity ended with great excitement as everyone enjoyed their delicious homemade pizza during snack time.

This experience supported the Four Purposes by helping children become:

Ambitious, capable learners — developing fine motor skills, following simple steps, and engaging in hands‑on learning.

Healthy, confident individuals — building independence, trying new foods, and feeling proud of their achievements.

Creative, enterprising contributors — designing their own pizzas, experimenting with ingredients, and engaging in imaginative role‑play.

Ethical, informed citizens — taking turns, sharing tools, and learning about cultural traditions from around the world.

What a lovely day our team had at Clynfyw Farm! 🌳✨ A day full of laughter, creativity, relaxation and time together, with wellbeing activities, henna, woodland art and a relaxing sound bath.

Supporting our staff’s wellbeing is so important to us. Our team give so much every day, and they deserve time to relax, recharge and enjoy being together. 💜

The children in the Wildlife Room and Holiday Club enjoyed a wonderful morning at the Green Park, where they were able to develop their gross motor skills, balance and coordination. They confidently explored the equipment, climbing ladders and steps, walking across bridges, sliding down the slide and rocking back and forth in the play car. Throughout the visit they practiced moving their bodies in different ways, strengthened their core muscles and showed growing control, confidence and independence in their physical abilities !!!

🏃‍♀️🏅 Sports Week Fun! 🏅🏃‍♂️

The children have been having a fantastic Sports Week, getting active and having lots of fun taking part in obstacle courses, races and lots of different Sports Day activities! 🌟

It’s been wonderful watching the children challenge themselves, build their confidence and develop their balance, coordination and physical skills – all while cheering each other on and having lots of fun! 💪🥰

We’ve loved seeing their physical development continue to grow through play, movement and new challenges. Well done to all our little athletes! 🏆👏❤️

🌿 Our Cynefin Adventure 🌿

Today our children enjoyed a wonderful outing into our local community, giving them meaningful real-life experiences while bringing the Curriculum for Wales to life.

We visited a local charity shop where the children carefully chose resources for their playrooms. This helped them understand the importance of recycling, reusing and supporting local charities, while learning that pre-loved items can become exciting new resources for imaginative play.

Next, we visited local shops to choose fresh fruit before returning to nursery to prepare their very own fruit kebabs. The children practised making healthy choices, developed their independence, used early maths skills while selecting and counting fruit, and enjoyed preparing their own nutritious snack.

Experiences like these help children develop a strong sense of Cynefin—understanding where they belong, valuing their local community and recognising how they can make a positive contribution to the world around them.

We are so proud of how respectful, curious and enthusiastic the children were throughout the day. 💚

🌞🦖 A Day Full of Adventure! 🐞🏰

Our Holiday Club children had a fantastic adventure as they visited Pembroke Castle to hunt for the amazing dragons! 🐉✨ There were lots of smiles, imagination and excitement as they explored the historic castle together.

Meanwhile, our Wildlife Playroom children enjoyed a wonderful nature walk around the Mill Pond, searching for bugs, creepy crawlies and other fascinating wildlife. 🐛🕷️ Along the way, they also enjoyed visiting our local community, taking in the beautiful surroundings and learning more about the world around them.

Days like these are full of exploration, curiosity and creating special memories together. 💚🌿
