Reminder!!
THE FUTURE OF OUR PTFA ❤️
We need to be completely honest with our school community about where our PTFA currently stands.
Over the past few months, two members of our already small committee have had to step back due to other commitments, leaving even fewer people to organise and run the events and fundraising our children enjoy.
For several years we have repeatedly asked for more volunteers. Despite having over 500 children at our school, the PTFA continues to be run by only a tiny number of parents.
We simply cannot continue like this.
We absolutely want the PTFA to continue. We love seeing the children enjoy the things we organise and being able to raise money to provide extras for our school.
But without more parents joining us, there simply won’t be enough people to make these things happen.
That means no more school discos. No Christmas events. No Easter egg hunts. No fayres. No extra events throughout the year.
Not because we don’t want to organise them — but because a handful of parents cannot continue doing everything.
Our AGM is on Friday 25th September at 2:30pm in the Main School Hall, just before the end of the school day, and this year it really matters that more parents come along and join us.
We know everyone is busy. We are too. Nobody is expected to attend every meeting, help at every event or give up huge amounts of their time. In fact, that’s exactly why we need more people — so the responsibility can be shared.
The PTFA isn’t an outside organisation that comes into school and puts these events on. It is simply parents volunteering their own time to create these experiences for our children.
So please don’t read this and think somebody else will do it.
If more parents don’t come forward at this AGM, the PTFA will have no choice but to dramatically reduce what it does — and potentially stop running events altogether.
If you want your children to continue having discos, Christmas activities, Easter events and all the other things the PTFA provides, we genuinely need your help now.
